Some of the books every UATX student reads.

Last night, at the @HWDSB board meeting, my motion requesting a comprehensive food program report from board staff, sponsored by @sabreina_dahab, passed unanimously. This is the first step in bringing back breakfast and food programs for HWDSB since the pandemic.

@LoyolaLaw_HCDSB @OJEN_ROEJ Past case law demonstrates that sec 33 of the Charter has not done much good except take away language rights in the Ford case and it has also been used to take away the ability to strike #OJENROEJSP23 @OJEN_ROEJ @NDHSbeach @marroumt

Fundamental humans rights are in the Charter (sec. 2, 7-15) and should not easily be overridden because they are basic rights for a democratic system to function. #OJENROEJSP23 @OJEN_ROEJ @NDHSbeach @marroumt

Section 33 should be reconsidered, and possibly repealed. The clause provides a risk to our fundamental freedoms and puts marginalized citizens at risk. Governments shouldn't be able to violate decisions that are made by our courts, and it shows an abuse of power. #OJENROEJSP23

Interesting suggestion! What are people's thoughts on putting what some might call 'legal' decisions in the hands of the public through democratic mechanisms such as referendums? twitter.com/tl__03/status/…
