@JimDelahunt I think goalies could be shoulder charged back then so they got rid of ball ASAP. A goal was scored in an FA Cup final by charging keeper on the goal line.

Anybody know if the keepers HAD to get rid of the ball straight away or was it just get it up the park as quickly as possible? I suspect the latter.
