Ecommerce is such a roller coaster. Some days: Where are all these orders coming from?! 😮📦📦📦 Some days: Crickets 🤷‍♂️ Today is the latter. Trying to remember to zoom out.

This thing fixes MagSafe! One of my clients developed this very clever solution for making MagSafe cases actually work and he just launched it on Kickstarter: kickstarter.com/projects/johnr… It's been 3 years in the making. Show him some love and spread the word! @TheOpenCase_

🤣 just found this animation exploration for the @Weather_Up_ Edit/Done button from 2019. That animation is still in the app today.

I had a third kid two weeks ago today. Elle Hudson, 12-23-23. After much consideration we think we’ll keep her 😉

@rjonesy Or just an iPhone with AirPods and maybe a little lapel mic. Unconvinced there’s another input that levels things up.

@harleyf @ugmonk We got ours a couple months ago and it was awesome. My next question was what is the next milestone. 1M? Never looked it up but hoping not 🤞😎

Huge milestone! Thanks @shopify 🙌 15 years of slowly building 🐢 (12 of those on Shopify) Some things I've learned along the way: - Show up consistently every day (even when things suck). - Never settle for "good enough." - Build products that you want to exist - Obsess over the details - Treat customers the way you want to be treated - Remember there's a person behind every number Thanks for supporting me (and my team) on this journey! 🙏

I'm frustrated that X doesn't let me hide the algorithmic feed. It's full of mental empty calories. Seems designed to tempt me with distraction. A platform that doesn't let me control my attention isn't looking after my interests. Repost if you agree.

@rjonesy Can already tell you the Cylde Commons one wins for me. Tequila and the nutty sherry can’t be beat by rum. Impossible.

And as we've scaled the ad campaign, our conversion numbers have improved. Average opt-in rate for the lead magnet in November was 24%. For December, so far this week, the opt-in rate has been 35%.

In May of this year, I started investing in Paid Ads for The Focus Course. (If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen an ad.) The ad funnel looks like this: Ad > Lead Magnet Opt-In > Tripwire > email sequence At first, the lead magnet opt-in rate was TERRIBLE. About 2-4%. It took us a few weeks of fiddling with the offer, and we got it up to 8%. But then, nothing. For 5 months our conversation sat flat. Twice a week we meet to review the numbers and make changes to the opt-in page. But nothing was moving the needle. We just kept sitting at 8% conversion and I was losing money every day. Then, we tried something totally different on the opt-in page. And it tanked our conversion numbers. We dropped down to 5%. I let it sit for a few days hoping something might change, but nope. So, as we rolled back our mistake, it gave me an idea for something else. And that was it! Our conversion rate shot up to 23% the next day. And it has stayed there for the past month. The email open rates for those coming from cold, paid traffic are 55%. We lost money for 5 months straights. We were definitely making changes and improvements over time to slowly close the gap on our ad spend, but it wasn't until we got that landing page conversion to click over that everything changed. Once we got to that point of break-even or better, we began to scale our ad spend and the numbers have been improving each week. Now we're at 1.25x ROAS within the first 24 hours, and close to 1.5x ROAS in the first 30 days. Still a long way to go, but wow. Feels good to have turned the corner.
