@ClemensTrevor I mean… D-Rose peak: 25/8/3 on 45/33/86 Wall peak: 23/11/4 on 45/33/80 Their careers are so similar it’s just D-Rose’s major injury hit so much earlier.

@ClemensTrevor Yeah I definitely don’t think it’s some upgrade but if you’re asking for next year if I’d rather have Beal and Collins or just Norm it’s a pretty easy answer for me.

@ClemensTrevor Yeah he’s definitely not a star anymore but I think at this point they are both pretty efficient scoring guards who don’t play much defense. Norm plays a little more defense and Beal is a little more capable of a playmaker.

@ClemensTrevor True. But Norm Powell has also been traded for the corpse of Eric Bledsoe and Justise Winslow and then was traded for the expiring contracts of Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson. Feels like if he was owed $100+ million over the next 2 years he would be a waive/stretch candidate too.

@ClemensTrevor Agreed even though I was surprised how good Beal’s numbers were when I looked them up. But he seems like a reasonable Powell replacement which would mean they basically picked up John Collins for free. The West is insane.

@ClemensTrevor Yeah I just don’t get it. Either they played so poorly yesterday they would have probably lost to any of the other playoff teams or they’re so overmatched by OSU they would have lost to them eventually anyway. Either way it was an awesome season and yesterday sucked.

@DouglasTS Seems like if they were going to think about dropping Penn state behind Ohio state for losing a conference title game they wouldn’t have Penn state at 3 right now. It would take an embarrassing loss to Oregon to drop them 4 spots I think.

@DouglasTS Not sure how it’s possible that asu would pass Boise if they both win out at this point. Both play crap teams this week and teams ranked 15-25 in conference title games.

@trailblazers Anyone have any luck with their antenna in the mid-willamette valley? I’m in Polk county and haven’t been able to get the Portland or Eugene signal.

This feels about right to me, about a coin flip. There's some noise in Oregon's rush defense (Jeanty), but other than that two very evenly matched teams. Gabriel will need to play his best game as a Duck, and Reed and Manning need to ball out. Gonna be a fun Saturday

@blazerbanter Keeping an extra roster spot for a trade when you’re not bumping up against the tax is one of the fakest narratives an org can push. No reason to leave the team short handed until a trade instead of just making a cut later other than saving Jody a couple $100k.

Also if you get to a trade where you have to cut someone then you have to do that but keeping an extra roster spot “for a trade” seems like real wishful thinking/dangling a carrot to the fan base for something that might not happen

I would like for them to keep Banton because I like his game and I like the idea of them using size to their advantage with this roster. It’s one of the only ways they will be able to compete.

Imagine leaving your conference to play primetime games against the No. 2 team on NBC in front of 60k fans. Could be playing kicking off right now at Stanford on Apple TV in front of a few dozen people instead

@zachleft Other than half of the job (hitting) he’s been good. Which is exactly why he should be replaced. Ownership is awful but if we’re stuck with them we might as well be trying someone new who might have the ability to build an above average offense with below average payroll.

Outside of hitting and PR I think he’s done a good job *ducks* But at this point he can’t leave any stone unturned this offseason regarding a fix to the philosophical approach to the offense. Ownership deserves a ton of blame but there’s lower payroll teams outperforming us.
