A.J. is still a very talented player, and he’d help this team a lot in 2026 (which is very important). At the same time, I think people overstate his long-term value, and I expect the knee to be an issue down the stretch. That’s why there’s a price limit for me. I’d be thrilled to trade for him at the right cost. I would not give up a first-round pick, because I don’t think his future outlook justifies that. But if the price stays below that, I’m all in. I’m walking on a line between being excited about adding a player who clearly raises your ceiling now while still wanting to be responsible and realistic about the future. If you can get this done without giving up a first, I’m ecstatic. If you can’t, I’m disappointed, but I’ll still thoroughly enjoy the entertainment.

@troymeans I despise the man, but I can't tell you the number of times I've been to games and chatted with or just watched average Angels fans that I thought didn't care about winning. They all seem so fine with the mediocre (at best) that is given.

After reading Arte’s comments yesterday, not sure how anyone can seriously take the Angels seriously till he sells. The owner legitimately said on record, majority fans don’t care about winning as much as have a great time at the ball part and cheap tickets. Unbelievable

@UrbanCowboyII I like that he’s wanting to develop young players moving forward and focus on that but all the teams that have won the WS recently has been teams that spent big. Dodgers, and rangers all had owners that spent tons of $ to bolster the team
