We are pleased to share that Victor E. Masiga (LLB 3) achieved an outstanding milestone in the ICRC IHL Essay Competition. He wrote the best essay from Uganda and ranked 2nd overall in the competition across the region. Submissions were received from more than 44 universities.

The Best Oralist Award at the intra moot competition that took place at the University on 22 November went to Nalukwago E. Vanessa from Team KC01. The Runners-up were Team KC01, composed of Mugisha Timothy Brighton, Nalukwago Vanessa Evelyn, and Okurut John Albert.

On 22 Nov, we hosted the final of the Intra-Moot Competition. The champions composed of Mawanda Irene Kateme, Chemonges Chebet Manuela and Nalubega Dainah Malachi. Final was presided over by Hon. Justice Stephen Mubiru together with distinguished alumni magistrates and advocates.

East African Moot Champions Attend Privacy Symposium : Heather S. Kutamba and Sandra Ajambo, winners of the East African Privacy Moot, represented the Law School at the Privacy Symposium Africa in Lagos, Nigeria, where they shared insights from their victory and their experiences

East Africa Champions: UCU has emerged the Champion & Best Overall Team at the Chaloka Beyani International Refugee Law Moot. The team comprised Abraham B. Wanyanga (Best Oralist), Abigail Namanya and Stuart Ssemwogerere, with support from Kamatsiko Desire and Frederick Mongoyi.

We are pleased to report that UCU Law School has made it to the Final of the Regional Chaloka Beyani International Refugee Moot. This moot is taking place in Nairobi. Our Team is represented by Abraham Baraka, Stuart Ssemwogerere and Abigail Namanya.

Vice Chancellor Celebrates UCU Law Moot Team’s Stellar Regional Wins👏🏿🎖️🏆 This afternoon, the UCU School of Law moot team, led by the Dean of the UCU School of Law, Dr. Peter Davis Mutesaasira, met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, who officially congratulated them on their impressive string of victories in quick succession at both national and regional moot competitions. They presented to the Vice Chancellor the most recent award, earned as Champions of the Regional rounds of the Unwanted Witness moot competition. Uganda Christian University (UCU) on the 24th September emerged the East African Champion of the Unwanted Witness Privacy Moot Court Competition that took place at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania 1/3

We are the East African Champions!🥇🏆 The UCU School of Law duo- Sandra Ajambo(L) and Heather Stacey Kutamba (R) representing 🇺🇬, edged out team from Kenya at the grand finale of the @UnwantedWitness privacy moot competition!💪 They will walk away with💲1500 and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Privacy Symposium Africa, in Nigeria, later this year 2025.
