We have seen a few other charities and organisations detailing their Christmas closures. We know Christmas and New Year can be a difficult time for some people, so we'll be keeping an eye on our messages in case people need us.

Today some of our veterans had an away day to @PirateGolfHull followed by a carvery lunch which turned into a bit of a food challenge! We had a great time. If you're interested in joining us in the future drop us a message.

We know this is a time of year which can bring lots of difficult memories and feelings. Valkyrie is open to veterans from across the UK. Reach out if you need us.

@Gbower2003 We're not local to you, but we're happy to chat to you if you'd like. DM us. If you contact RBL they can allocate you a caseworker locally who could help you link up with suitable groups or activities and get you some bereavement support too if that might help.

What’s the secret to moving on? In 34 months I’ve lost my wife, mother and sister in law. And now my 18 year old cat. Alone in my house I’m so tense. My kids and their families are at work all day. I just feel so bloody lonely.

@JohnnyMercerUK @VeteransGovUK Hope this can be used to support the many small organisations who make a difference at grass roots level. We find many veterans wait a long time to get service from health, councils and larger charities.

Today’s budget has seen an unprecedented investment in our Country’s veterans. With the Op Fortitude funding it’s over £40m - will double the size of @VeteransGovUK, end homelessness for veterans, drive veteran employment and ensure long term care for our most seriously injured.

@JohnnyMercerUK we became aware of this new alert scheme today. We're concerned that there could be quite a lot of people whose PTSD might be triggered by something like this. Can you do anything to bring that risk to the attention of the right people please?

Today is #RandomActsOfKindessDay . Seems a bit sad to us that this needs a special day. At Valkyrie this could be any day, but actually it's more like every day. You could help us to spread more kindness by donating anything we need for site or to run our programmes.
