NITI Aayog Frontier Tech Hub launched “DPI@2047: A Strategic Roadmap for Viksit Bharat,” outlining India’s pathway to a USD 750–850 billion technology services sector by 2035, driven by the expanding role of Digital Public Infrastructure. India’s Digital Public Infrastructure, anchored in Aadhaar, UPI, and the JAM Trinity, has redefined service delivery across the country. With UPI processing over 12.5 billion transactions monthly and Direct Benefit Transfer savings exceeding ₹13.48 lakh crore, DPI today contributes nearly 1% to GDP, with projections to reach 4.2% by 2030. The roadmap was unveiled by Shri Suman Bery, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, and Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, in the presence of Ms. Nidhi Chibber, Chief Executive Officer, NITI Aayog; Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India; Ms. Debjani Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow, NITI Aayog; and Mr. Shankar Maruwada, Chief Executive Officer, EkStep Foundation. The roadmap charts the next phase, DPI 2.0 (2025–2035), signalling a transition from welfare-led delivery to livelihood-driven prosperity. It delineates eight high-impact sectoral transformations, including expanded market access for MSMEs, development of inclusive credit infrastructure for a billion Indians, advancement of decentralised energy systems, and the establishment of universal platforms for health and education. From Gujarat to Maharashtra, emissions trading is evolving into a policy tool that can deliver cleaner air at lower cost. We are grateful to the @mpcb_official leadership for launching mock trading to advance India’s first statewide SO₂ emissions market across Maharashtra.

Delhi’s draft #EV policy is a breath of fresh air, mandating the adoption of electric three-wheelers from 2027 and two-wheelers from 2028. Subsidies drive initial adoption but mandates drive the scale. This is a policy that should be emulated by other states. Delhi must leapfrog technologically and shift to electric mobility. The ongoing West Asia crisis is a stark reminder that India cannot continue with a fossil fuel-dependent transport system, where nearly 90% of crude oil is imported. India must accelerate its transition to electric mobility. Congrats to @gupta_rekha and @CMODelhi on one of the most progressive #EVPolicy drafts. Kudos to @amitbhatt4u and @TheICCT_India for a detailed analysis of the Delhi EV Policy draft by @DelhiGovDigital. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @LtGovDelhi @SandhuTaranjitS 🔗 hindustantimes.com/opinion/a-delh… @htTweets

10th Apr '26, Gorakhpur: At a dissemination roundtable organized by @NagarNigamGkp and @EMC_PvtLtd, stakeholders and leaders came together to strengthen pathways for municipal solid waste utilization and cleaner practices. Dr @rajivkhurana highlighted a critical link- #AirPollution and its disproportionate impact on #vulnerable communities, from children to daily wage workers. From policy to practice, the focus was clear: prevention, awareness, and collective action. #AirPollution #PublicHealth #WasteManagement

As a curtain-raiser to the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2026, the CEO Forum was held on 24th February 2026 at The Taj Palace, New Delhi. The Forum set the strategic stage by distilling industry-led insights into the summit’s broader global agenda, convening senior leaders to champion ‘Transformations: Vision, Voices, and Values.’ By moving beyond incremental steps, the Forum sought to align corporate leadership with the systemic, resilient change required in an uncertain world. The CEO Forum began with a welcome address by @DrVibhaDhawan, Director General, TERI, who stated, “With two-thirds of our infrastructure yet to be built and a young workforce at our core, India stands at a pivotal juncture. Success lies in channelizing this potential to transform a rising nation into a global blueprint for growth; to achieve this, industry, government, and policymakers must come together.” This was followed by Mr Mahendra Singhi, Distinguished Fellow, TERI, who noted, “The transition to a low-carbon economy is no longer just a corporate goal; it is a national mandate. Following Prime Minister Modi’s 2070 Net Zero commitment, we have witnessed a radical change in the thought processes of leaders and bureaucrats alike, manifesting in bold missions that turn climate ambition into systemic action.” Mr Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director - Strategy & External Relations, @JindalSteel_In, added, “To reach the status of a developed economy, India must bridge the gap in per capita consumption. Tripling our current steel production to 500 million tons is not just an industrial target—it is the foundational requirement for the infrastructure, housing, and technology that will define a Viksit Bharat.” The inaugural session concluded with an address by Dr @virinderCC, Member (Technical),@CAQM_Official. “ While climate change dominates the global discourse, local air quality often remains a silent crisis. Clean air transformation must be internalized by industry as a core pillar of their operations. If we are to maintain our economic momentum, we must bridge the gap between our technological ambitions and the environmental reality on the ground,” he added. #WSDS2026 #CEOForum2026 #NetZero #VikistBharat #CleanAir #LowCarbon #Decarbonization

#EarlierThisWeek The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in collaboration with key stakeholders, spearheaded a vital dialogue on the future of India’s logistics sector. A central highlight was the release of a new Whitepaper proposing a nationally harmonised approach aligned with ISO 14083 and the GLEC Framework. “Measuring freight emissions is the critical first step... [it can] enable participation in emerging compliance and carbon-market mechanisms,” shared Mr Sanjay Seth, Senior Director, Sustainable Infrastructure Programme, TERI, as he addressed the convening. Ms Deepali Thakur, Principal – Technical, @smartfreightctr, stated, “You cannot decarbonise what you cannot measure. The development of standardised methodologies and India-specific emission factors strengthens the technical basis for informed, targeted interventions.” “Going ahead, freight emissions accounting will need to be integrated with other pillars of logistics infrastructure, supporting efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability together,” added Mr Sagar Kadu, Director (Logistics), DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. @virinderCC, Member (Technical), Commission for Air Quality Management (@CAQM_Official), added, “Addressing hotspots such as Delhi NCR can create scalable, emissions-led models for other regions facing similar PM and NOx challenges.” “Such frameworks enable more targeted and proportionate interventions... helping policymakers focus on fleet modernisation and zero-emission freight solutions,” highlighted Dr Aditya Gupta, COO, TCI-SCSL, @iimb_official. The event marked the rollout of several high-impact tools aimed at strengthening India’s readiness for future disclosure requirements: ✅ Release of TERI’s Clean Freight Program: Baseline Study (Phase-II) ✅ India-specific Electric Vehicle Emission Factors (IIM-Bangalore & SFC) ✅ Transportation Emissions Measurement Tool (TEMT) demonstrations Together, these initiatives enable a credible transition toward a low-carbon, zero-emission freight future for the nation.
