I was sexually assaulted when I was 16. I was walking home from work at night as an apprentice and as I went through a tunnel I noticed two men approaching me. I had my earbuds in and tried to walk faster as I stared at the ground. Suddenly one of them grabbed me by my arm and started speaking to me, I couldn't understand his language and begged for him to let go. He grabbed both of my arms and held them behind my back and his friend kissed me, started to grope my chest and touch my body. I remember how much I cried for help and felt my mind slowly turning blank as I was praying for it to be over soon, when suddenly another man saw what was happening to me and he ran towards us, threatening to call the police. He saved me that night. Ever since then I hate going outisde alone, traveling alone by bus or with trains, I always have to either call one of my friends till I get to my destination or travel together with them.

@vtuberdefense this is pretty much how i feel. there are mature people in the scene, but content creation and especially vtubing tends to have a lot of young inexperienced people that get themselves into trouble. i just dont want any part of that

never ever EVER date other content creators. its like shitting where you eat; you're gonna make a mess. there may be exceptions, but if you want to be safe just avoid it. At the very least, keep it the hell away from me.

@yuzimii Vtubers are simultaneously the best and the worst people you’ll ever meet and it’s so hard to tell who falls on what side of the divide until it’s too late.

One of the biggest reasons why I became reticent in online circles was because I was encountering people who would pour out the sweetest of words and then quickly turn cold when I no longer had a use or didn’t act in ways they wanted me to. I wish this was a unique experience but it cuts incredibly deep to see that it is not and still continues to pervade this space.

@Shade_Lavendris It’s such a shame how many people in the vtuber space feel the way to go is to isolate another person by spreading rumors about them. It’s not right what’s happened to you, you don’t deserve to be treated as a problem to be avoided over unverified rumors.

I am not excusing his behavior; he led Hemomal and at least one other person on for romantic/sexual purposes. I’m only challenging the sensationalization of the claims and the need for drama.

@XiiaLiaVT Neither should be excused, neither deserve to be crucified. It’s a shitty thing to do at the end of the day, but I think it’s been blown out of proportion. Ultimately, if Sykkuno comes back, I hope he’ll be better and stop engaging romantically/sexually with fans.

It's genuinely upsetting how some people's response (mostly men) to this is "he didn't do anything wrong. he just wanted some ass" but when there were allegations of froot cheating, there were so many men calling her a whore and harassing her for MONTHS. Every situation has its nuances, but the double standards are what's wild to me :( It literally feels like high school all over again, where if a guy slept around, he was cool and celebrated for being a player, but if a girl slept around, she was a slut and no one would want her bc she's not "pure" anymore

@ItsAmbrrrr I’ve seen servers get completely hijacked and turned into grounds for infighting, and that pushes the good people out of the community and in turn hurts the creator. Being able to wrangle your community is super important.

Hi guys! Just wanted to to make another announcement. Sorry for the doom posts I swear this is the last. I'm officially deleting my discord server. I've thought about this for awhile now, and after seeing a lot of advice about it too, I decided to go forward with deleting it. Just wanted to let you guys know so nobody freaks out or anything. Honestly, my server has been super dead lmfao. I'm not sure if its because I stream early etc, but events usually don't go well. Nobody shows up or responds. Also, I've had people solely join just to spam the self-promo channel and lowkey over it LOL. I've also noticed viewers trying to dm me, befriend me etc and I do want to make this clear. I am a streamer, I am here to entertain. I love my community and appreciate everyone, but we are not friends. This is a persona, and it's not the real me. I also do not want to be friends with my viewers truthfully, as I've tried in the past and that led to very awkward and uncomfortable situations. No shade to people who game with viewers or are friends! That's personally just not what I'm looking for. Having a discord server was kinda allowing people to try and spam me etc just weird behavior so for now I am deleting! Thank you all for being patience and supporting me. Please respect my decision and this boundary! See you all tomorrow!

@ItsAmbrrrr On top of that, almost every drama I’ve seen in the vtuber community heavily centers around things that happen on Discord. The best way to protect yourself as a vtuber really seems to be to avoid using Discord as much as you can. You’re making the right call deleting the server.

@ItsAmbrrrr I’ve seen entire communities implode, server leaks for drama, data scraping, you name it. Audience reflects the streamer, but sometimes the streamer becomes secondary to the audience which then turns toxic, and Discord servers enable that dynamic greatly.

@DarthhPotato Hemomal’s feelings of betrayal are incredibly valid; Sykkuno did objectively lead her on under false pretenses that he wasn’t involved with anyone else, but the response reeks of malicious hit piece and dragging Bao into it without receipts is very unfair to her.

Cheating isn't "predatory," it's just pathetic. It's the move of a guy too scared to be single and too weak to stay loyal, so you ghost, and reload the next lobby. And to every braindead person in the comments calling him a "predator" for basic adult relationship trash: knock it the hell off. You're diluting the term until it means nothing. Save "predator" for the people who are a danger to children. not some streamer who can't keep his dick in his Discord. Sykkuno's crime is being a disloyal simp who treats hearts like respawns, scummy sure, but not the kind that needs a registry. But here's the real comedy gold that's funnier than a 0 IQ imposter fail: the side chick who recorded the audio of him admitting to cheating is already speedrunning back into his life the second your actual girlfriend moves out. Sykkuno drops the "we're not talking anymore" line and she's out here audibly devastated, like she just lost her favorite skin in the battle pass? Girl... WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! He literally just showed you the entire cheat code by cheating on his main with you. Jumping back in right after the breakup isn't "giving him a second chance", that's main-character syndrome mixed with premium copium, volunteering to be the replacement controller after the last one got yeeted out the window. Newsflash, if he'll do it FOR you, he'll 100% do it TO you, you absolute donut. That's not a red flag; that's the entire Soviet parade of red flags marching straight through your DMs. Both of y'all need to uninstall Discord, touch grass, and maybe queue up for some therapy instead of the same lobby that's already banned for cheating. @williardalmy @Hemomal I don’t believe sending money to someone is manipulation unless it was used to guilt them, e.g. “but I gave you so much”. He’s a player at best, but this was between mutually attracted adults who weren’t in a relationship. The best move is to cut contact, block and move on.
