@KittensSuddenly @Tanyaelisabeth @sexy1366643 Who said there are zero joys? You will work and die. That is a fact. Joy and happiness are not guaranteed in life. Suffering and death are.
English

@e_hyp @nocontextmemes do you really think the unemployed are going out picking up bottles 3 hours a day for a ps5?
English

@nocontextmemes So you earned € 500,-- with 105 hours of work? that's hardly € 5,-- per hour.
The german minimum wage für ANY work currently is € 13,90. So .. with about 2,5 hours work a day, you could have made it within 14 days ..
English

@EliasDaler makes me happy whenever I see devs making games for older consoles
English

Having an ODE (XStation) in my PS1 changed my life and allowed me to develop for PS1 easily. ☺️
If I had to constantly burn CD-Rs for the development, I'd lose my sanity pretty quick because some *single* bugs took like 20-30 builds to fix and don't reproduce in emulators. 😅

Revy the Tiefling@WeebyRevy
Am I the only one who hates console mods that remove the disc drive? I see these for both the PS1 and Dreamcast a lot. Like... Why would you remove the ability to ever actually buy and play games in their native format on the original hardware? Surely there's other ways to play your collection of ISOs on the hardware...

@Fuechsinvonwelt what you're describing is exactly the same with kids, just with a different delusion attached to justify it
English

@NoGoodCitizen or you could buy the original japanese versions for next to nothing

Video games…
I used to rip 4-5 hour COD sessions every Sunday like clockwork
7–10pm during the week , headset on, yelling at 14 year olds lol
I quit 3 years ago
Crazy how fast your life improves when you stop spending 15+ hrs/week chasing fake wins and dopamine spikes
That’s like ~500 hours a year… basically 3 months of your life
Grown men grinding ranked instead of money, body, or girls will never make sense to me
“But it helps me relax”
Yeah so does winning at something real
English

@AkirasParadox the utter bait you must fall for every day if this isn't incredibly obvious to you
English

@reyesboy209 @LocalBtnMasher no, i'm pointing out you have little insight relating to the inception, which was casual. then it became popular by the late 70's which brought serious players. lasted for a while, then everyone decided they'd rather play consoles. back to casual, with a few exceptions
English

@we4ry @LocalBtnMasher Do you think arcades just stopped existing after the 90s?
English

Video games are not a tool to relax, they are not a service for that
They are artistic works which main purpose is to invoke emotion in you, in the case of problem solving games, frustration and euphoria
If you want to relax kick your legs back and get a massage
Dasha@dashalosesit
I like to relax when playing games, not treat them as a second job
English

@we4ry @LocalBtnMasher You can tell this loser didn’t grow up in arcades
English

3 of these games are fundamentally and foundationally different from the original games so they shouldn’t even be compared to the original but instead games in the same sub genre/archytype.
@
You genuinely gotta be nostalgia blinded if you think these remakes aren't perfect and aren't literally better than the outdated clunky originals
English

@tooshrill @LocalBtnMasher idk i feel like he's just saying shit, there's no depth to it
English

@we4ry @LocalBtnMasher “I like to relax when playing games, not treat them as a second job” WHEN replying to another post explaining why a certain type of game design is good is absolutely arguing that games should be one thing.
English

@LocalBtnMasher @tooshrill oh no, an attack. people are gonna have differing and mostly stupid opinions. that doesn't affect anything in any major way. as long as there's still people who enjoy those types of games, it really shouldn't matter what casuals think
English

@we4ry @tooshrill They are clearly elevating relaxation over what I said in the original context. How are you going to claim that is not an attack on a certain type of design lol
English

@we4ry @tooshrill Did you bother to read the context of what they are replying to?
English

@tooshrill @LocalBtnMasher "I like to relax when playing games, not treat them as a second job" is not arguing that games should be one thing, its one person's personal preference
English

@we4ry @LocalBtnMasher Yes but you can’t just respond to this quote tweet out of context.
This isn’t about worrying how others spend their time. This is responding to someone who is arguing that games SHOULD be one specific thing (relaxing)
