I was negotiating contracts at Datacom once and they served us a lunch that included yams (not sweet potatoes - but those funny little NZ yams ) wrapped in bacon.
They were amazing. I just recreated them and yum 😋
Went to the uni open day today. I don't have a degree, or want to study anything. But I'm happy knowing I know how to cook a sausage on a BBQ.
I think if they had left it in the sun it would have been warmer then the one I ate.
New school shoes for the teen today. Got good ones, they cost a bit.
Get home. Teen informs me the two shoes are different brands, and are both the left foot.
Didn't think to check.
Dude in the store checked like 5 times before putting them in the box. #experiencehamilton
@kirsty_johnston First time I ever visited Hamilton years ago, a woman was hanging out the window of a car and was flashing all of Victoria St. Seemed weird at the time.
Now that I live here. Nothing surprises me these days.
@Kiwiseabreeze any soup with a pumpkin base is the best soup because there’s a thicker consistency which gives the illusion of warmth. i’m not saying ham & pea isn’t good, i’m just saying roast pumpkin & kūmara soup topped with fresh coriander is the best.
Anyone ever just feel like calling people they haven't spoken to in a couple of years for no reason at all but just because It might be cool, then talk yourself out of it because you convince yourself you have left it too long and they hate you now?
Because, yeah
@websam@eliterate@whaeapower Sam is the legend of NZ Secret Santa! What I want to know though Sam, is did your sister chuck out the clock I sent as part of her Secret Santa gift ? She didn’t seem very enamoured 🤣
I have some very sad news. Due to changes made to Twitter by Elon Musk we've had to make the very hard choice that we can not run #SecretSantaNZ anymore. It's a heart breaking decision because we thought we'd future proofed with the App etc, but we will always have the memories.
