Iranian outlet Tasnim is reporting that Iran never requested in-person negotiations with the United States, directly disputing claims made by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. According to the report from the state-aligned media outlet, Iran has actually rejected U.S. requests for talks due to what it calls “excessive demands.”
That stands in stark contrast to the narrative from the Trump administration, which claimed Iran initiated outreach and prompted plans to send envoys like Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff to Pakistan.
