@sarahsherliker Relying on vigilance alone in a complex system with this level of potential harm is not enough. People are important in picking up Safety II issues. We need Human Factors expertise to help us understand how we can design systems for greater safety. @WoodrowKate

The advice given to clinicians is to treat the patient, not the numbers. Is there a danger that with AI it's the other way round, AI treats the numbers, not the patient?

Number 10 couldn’t have gotten this new slogan more wrong. This is like having to explain a joke or put complicated labels on buttons. People can control behaviours and respond to clear, specific, concrete commands. They can’t effectively ‘stay alert’ nor ‘control the virus’.
