56 Communicants, the same number as my years I’ve lived on this mortal coil, 17 of which now here at S. Paul’s Deptford. A signed card & bottle from the faithful, to keep me no doubt in the company of today’s gospel, ‘a glutton & a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors & sinners.’

Today is the 30th Anniversary of my Ordination to the Priesthood. Lovely Parish Mass with Christopher Tye’s, (1528?) Missa Euge Bone. 74 at Mass, including 30 under 16s, & preached about God’s preferential option for the little ones & liberation for the wretched of the earth. DG.

I have attended General Synod in York virtually, thank God for technology-able to join the Livestream of Sung Eucharist at Minster with Officers & Members of GS. ArchB Kobina, Primate of West Africa preached a good sermon on “Called”. ArchB Steven led a joyful service. Praise God

God is faithful. We had a joyful Deanery Confirmation service @stannesbermondsey with a group of gifted candidates. Revd Charlie - Area Dean preached an excellent sermon. A joyful spirit filled celebration of God’s goodness to his people. 🙏
