@ColinSphoenix And a pint in your suggested pub sounds like a plan too. 😊

Today would have been Stuart's 68th birthday. One of Scotland's greatest ever guitarists and songwriters. I had the great privilege of playing alongside him in the first line up of Big Country. Here's an obituary I found that I wrote for the Daily Mail just after his death in 01.

Conversion to resi flats approved yesterday on the Mercat building. Down Gallowgate way. Not student digs. 😂

Maybe one of the most beautiful songs (well this version anyway). I remember as I walked across Scotland, I stopped in the middle of Rannoch Moor, sat and listened to the wind blow across the moor, then played this. It fit perfectly. Great memory!

@LambLex Cheers Alec. Stumbled upon you a bit back - like your posts. Likewise I’ve been in the west end 37 years!

@wormydtom D. A. Yes, I do. Been in Glasgow for more than 35 years but I still see a couple of folk from our year pretty regularly.

Been looking again but more closely at these pics. Former customers of the Steamie (formerly the Jolly Sailor), Greenock may recognise the interior of their pub. I vaguely remember playing there once.

@pat_slide_69 @LambLex Apparently they have been removed!!! Who knows, you can see all the furniture is still inside the units underneath as it's being demolished. Who do you trust? Images taken this afternoon

@ColinSphoenix Have you by any chance got Stay Alive yet? Had I not been away in Argyll this weekend I’d have been going to the event at Waterstones tomorrow.
