O próximo filme a ser “atualizado” é ‘Alice no País das Maravilhas’, resultado do trabalho de 9 meses da mesma equipe que restaurou ‘Cinderela’ e ‘Branca de Neve e os Sete Anões’. Eles vão nos negativos originais pra recuperar as cores e as linhas originais dos desenhos, já que muita coisa se perdeu quando foram feitas as restaurações digitais. E o resulado é esse granulado lindo e as cores autênticas ao que as equipes originais utilizaram.

No — Arrow didn’t. The Shout one actually tracks closer to the 35mm print. Arrow looks like it’s been reinterpreted, with some creative choices layered on top of it. @ArrowFilmsVideo Oh yes, and the Shout version is a true 12-bit while Arrow's is only TV 10-bit.

@TimesSqKungFu @BBW_BFF Wong Kar Wai is a terrible example, because his changes in the Criterion 4Ks made the films worse. Direcrors can be wrong about their own work. Change isn't automatically better and something fans should accept, just because the director did it. Look at George Lucas

Hard Boiled [1992] Directed By: John Woo Comparison between the Shout 4K disc and ARROW 4K disc. ARROW nailed it. I told ya to wait. There are other details too like the Shout disc having noise and other stuff that has been broken down on the Blu-Ray forums. ARROW has better subs, color, artwork by @studiotstella amazing booklet with writing by @BBW_BFF and a bunch of other stuff as well.

@bartonovopolis Sometimes more accurate doesn't always mean better. The purple is a happy accident, really added to the mood and tone even if it wasn't intentional.

Not this discourse again. The blu-ray transfer was awful, devoid of film grain and not faithful to how the movie was supposed to look. Criterion 4K is better in every way and compressed twitter screenshots don’t showcase how big of an upgrade it is on a proper display.
