PRESS STATEMENT 27th of March 2026 Obidient Movement Welcomes Nationwide Mobilisation Efforts, Encourages Broad-Based Citizen Participation The Obidient Movement acknowledges the growing wave of citizen-led mobilisation across the country, including the initiative by the Village Boys Movement (VBM) tagged the “2 Million Man March and ADC Registration Drive” in support of His Excellency, Peter Obi. This development reflects a deepening political consciousness among Nigerians and an increasing willingness by citizens to organise, participate, and shape the democratic process in a more structured and impactful manner. Following engagements by the Village Boys Movement across national and state levels, the Obidient Movement recognises the importance of such initiatives in strengthening grassroots participation and translating public sentiment into coordinated civic and political action. The first phase of the march is scheduled for 28th March 2026 across Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Plateau, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Enugu, Kogi, and Edo States, with subsequent phases expected to extend to major political and commercial centres nationwide. The Obidient Movement encourages its members, supporters, and all citizens who share the vision of a more accountable and people-centred Nigeria to actively engage in peaceful and lawful civic activities that advance democratic participation and national renewal. This moment goes beyond any single event or group. It represents a broader opportunity to build a disciplined, inclusive, and results-oriented movement capable of driving meaningful political change. Central to this effort is the need to strengthen political structures, deepen citizen participation, and ensure that democratic processes reflect the true will of the people. Increased political engagement, including party registration and grassroots organisation, remains critical to achieving these outcomes. As conversations continue around leadership, equity, and national direction, the Obidient Movement reiterates its commitment to principles of competence, integrity, and service, and aligns with all constructive efforts aimed at advancing these values within Nigeria’s political landscape. The Movement also calls on political institutions and stakeholders to respond with responsibility and foresight to the growing demand for credible leadership and inclusive governance. Ultimately, sustainable change will require coordinated action, strategic organisation, and long-term commitment from citizens across all regions. The Obidient Movement remains focused on supporting initiatives that strengthen democratic participation and contribute to building a Nigeria that works for all. Signed: Dr Tanko Yunusa Global Coordinator, Obidient Movement

I’ve run out of “threats!” I now say to these little humans that look like me, “if you don’t behave this afternoon, you’ll eat Eba for dinner. There’s usually 30 seconds of silence from them immediately before the noise resumes. I think it works sometimes. 🤷🏽‍♀️

@NeverAgainNG @ManLikeIcey @daniel_mikah It's just funny how they still try to push their luck. I keep telling people, that a certain number of Nigeria's are politically awake. What they could tolerate before can never be overlooked again. However, when Nigerians are fully awake, it will be pure revolution.

Breaking News: APC Governors Declare Full Support for Fubara’s Re-Election In a major political realignment in Rivers State, top governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have thrown their support behind Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s bid for a second term in office in 2027. The endorsement comes barely months after Fubara defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in December 2025, amid a prolonged and bitter rift with his predecessor, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Multiple sources within the APC confirmed that several influential APC governors rallied behind Fubara, mobilising colleagues to back his re-election. This move is widely viewed as a direct challenge to Wike’s influence in Rivers politics and has reportedly deepened the frosty relationship between the two former allies. APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, publicly declared the party’s support, urging Rivers residents to deliver overwhelming votes for both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Fubara in the 2027 elections. He emphasised that no one can frustrate an APC governor performing his duties. APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, went further by declaring Fubara as the leader of the APC in Rivers State and pledging the party’s backing for his second-term bid, provided he emerges victorious at the primaries. Political Realignment in the Niger Delta The development is seen as part of a broader strategy by the APC to consolidate power in the South-South region following Fubara’s defection. Analysts say the party’s leadership, including the APC Governors’ Forum, views Fubara as a strategic asset in the oil-rich state. A senior APC chieftain told reporters that the governors’ decision to support Fubara emboldened him to stand firm against perceived attempts by Wike to undermine his administration. Wike has not hidden his displeasure. He reportedly views the APC’s endorsement of Fubara as a personal affront and has warned that allowing Fubara a second term would “bury” his own political structure in the state. Reactions and Implications The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has also thrown its weight behind Fubara, describing his leadership as unifying and development-oriented. Political observers believe the APC’s move could significantly weaken Wike’s hold on Rivers politics, especially as more PDP loyalists defect to the ruling party. However, questions remain about how the party will manage the simmering tensions, with some wondering if President Tinubu will eventually intervene to reconcile the warring factions or allow the battle for supremacy to play out. As the countdown to 2027 begins, Rivers State remains a political theatre to watch, with Governor Fubara now enjoying the open backing of the APC national leadership and its governors. What do you think this means for the political future of Rivers State? Drop your comments below.

*OBIDIENT MOVEMENT RESPONSE TO JUSTICE SALAMI'S RECENT COMMENTS ON PETER OBI* Fellow Obidients, We have seen the recent comments credited to retired Justice Isa Salami claiming that our principal, His Excellency Peter Obi, was "unqualified" to contest the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party. As a movement built on truth, justice, and the rule of law, we must set the records straight and not allow this narrative to mislead the public. *THE FACTS OF THE MATTER:* 1. The Supreme Court Has Ruled: The highest court in the land has already settled all matters regarding Peter Obi's candidacy and his membership in the Labour Party. The issue of his qualification was thoroughly litigated, and the courts did not disqualify him on the grounds of party membership. 2. Internal Party Affairs: It is a well-established legal principle in Nigeria that the membership of a political party is strictly an internal affair of that party. The Labour Party accepted Peter Obi, granted him a waiver, and submitted his name to INEC. No external body or individual has the locus standi to dictate who a party registers as its member. 3. The Timing of the Comments: It is curious that these comments are being made now, long after the elections have concluded and the judicial processes have been exhausted. We must ask: what is the motive behind trying to rewrite history and cast doubt on a candidacy that inspired millions of Nigerians? 4. Focus on the Real Issues: Justice Salami himself highlighted the "inadequacy and incompetence" of some judges and the "tragedy" of the current judicial system. Instead of focusing on a settled matter regarding Peter Obi, the focus should be on reforming the judiciary to ensure that justice is served to the Nigerian people, a core pillar of the New Nigeria we are fighting for. 5. Getting the Facts Right: Peter Obi never partook in the PDP primaries. It is unfortunate that the judge did not get his facts right before going to the press. 6. A Track Record of Integrity: We are talking about an individual who built private businesses successfully, with no criminal record against him. As governor, he left 75 billion Naira in the coffers of the Anambra State Government. He has no forgery or drug-related issues associated with him. Yet, the judge preferred to celebrate criminality over credibility. This is the level to which Nigeria has descendes.Very sad indeed! OUR STAND: Peter Obi remains the symbol of hope for a New Nigeria. His candidacy in 2023 was valid, legitimate, and overwhelmingly supported by millions of Nigerians who are tired of the status quo. We will not be distracted by retrospective opinions that hold no legal weight. Our eyes remain on the prize: building a nation where competence, character, and capacity lead the way. Let us continue to stay focused, peaceful, and resolute. A New Nigeria is still POssible! Signed: Dr Tanko Yunusa For the Obidient Movement Worldwide.

In today’s Nigeria, thousands of women struggle to eat shawarma and to eat at restaurants from our own pockets. For a country where we largely depend on men to eat, and to finance our lifestyles, we are way too ungrateful and we make too many demands.
