@JulieLovesFluff Tell the insurance company you give the provider permission to handle medical necessity and authorizations for you… insurance companies are VERY technical and will find ANY way to deny a claim or hospital visit unfortunately but there are ways to fight it

My insurance is trying to determine if they're going to cover Littlest Mans NICU stay and called with questions. Ins: Why did you pick X hospital for your child? Me: I didn't, I was told after I came out of surgery at Y hospital that they were transferring him to X because it was the closest NICU and he was not breathing on his own reliably. They'd already started the process without me. Ins: Okay and why did you pick Y hospital initially? Me: Well I was actively bleeding out from a ruptured placenta and it was the closest one, I was trying not to die. Are you not aware this was an emergency c section at 34 weeks? And also Y hospital is in network. Ins: Yes but if you had gone to in network hospital Z you could have transferred to an in network NICU. Me: *Googles* That's 2.5hrs away. I was bleeding out. I had to receive 2 pints of blood and I was only bleeding for 30 minutes before they started my transfusion. I would have been dead if I drove there. Ins: Well it transfers to the appropriate NICU for your plan, next time please try to go there. Lol okay, next time I'm pregnant and bleeding out I'll be sure to do that. This is insane.

@xVexity @mcuban Yes! Insurance companies also look for any way not to pay hospital bills if they can find a technical error on the hospitals part which often cause underpayments or uncompensated care. Topped with varying contracts that'll expose significant price differences for the same service

Transparency is a fair ask. But it won’t solve what’s actually breaking these hospitals. They’re losing on Medicare/Medicaid, getting negotiated down by insurers, and still required to run 24/7 care + treat uninsured patients. So costs get shifted — not because they want to, but because they have to. If this was just “bad spending,” 400+ hospitals wouldn’t be on the brink at the same time. That’s not mismanagement — that’s a system where the math doesn’t work.

Why aren’t any of these at risk hospitals publishing their full accounting so everyone can see where they spend their money ? All but one group of hospitals that I have looked at potentially investing in, spend so much on consultants and fees that it’s no wonder they are at risk Plus, I have NEVER seen an industry that is worse than hospitals when it comes to buying medications and items like implants, screws, other devices. They overpay for everything. And then when you show them how to save money, their “supply chain” employees resist any change. They are so set in their ways, it’s a shock more don’t go out of business. Prove me wrong.

@mabbe_8 There’s a difference in what you believe or feel happened and the law. Prosecutors must prove every element of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Its not just the body cam, there’s more than enough to raise a question of what happened and that in itself is reasonable doubt.

I’ve had some time to process the not-guilty verdict in the #KelseyFitzsimmons case, and I’ll be honest: it doesn’t sit right with me. Judge Karp said he found both Kelsey and Officer Noonan credible and that without body-worn camera footage, we’ll never fully know what happened. To me, that feels like an easy out. Cases have been decided in courtrooms for decades without body cams. That’s not new. That’s not a barrier to justice. That’s an excuse. A cop-out. And when you look at the facts, there are real credibility issues that shouldn’t just be brushed aside. Kelsey told police the guns were locked in a safe in the basement. There was no safe in the basement. The guns were scattered around the house. That’s not a small mistake. That’s a false statement. So the obvious question is why? Was she planning something else before she was surprised with the TRO? It makes no sense to have guns scattered around the house while your baby is home with you, no? At the same time, you have Officer Noonan, a highly trained former SWAT team member who has extensive experience in high-stress, shoot/no-shoot scenarios. This is literally what he’s prepared for. The idea that he simply “panicked” in that moment doesn’t line up with his background or training. This case came down to a few seconds and whether you believe a trained officer responding to a perceived lethal threat, or an account that includes clear inconsistencies. And now, predictably, the next phase is already starting. You’ve got the Aidan Kearney / #FKR crowd going after Justin and Noonan online. Neither of them were charged with any crimes, yet they’re being dragged, smeared, and targeted. It’s the same tired playbook: * Discredit the witnesses * Attack their character * Create enough noise that the truth gets buried It’s shameful. And unfortunately, it works more often than it should. You can agree or disagree with me on the verdict. That’s fair. But going after people who were part of this incident, who testified, and who have not been charged with anything, crosses a line. Hopefully, someday, a Massachusetts judge or official will stand up and be counted or just do their job. That'd be a nice place to start. This has to end. #defendingthetruth

Not Guilty - Kelsey Fitzsimmons There is an old saying about Bench Trials and that is: The defense never asks for a bench trial unless they know the outcome ;) Essentially, the judge said without BWC footage, he could not know what happened for sure, leaving him with reasonable doubt. So odd. BWCs are new. Cases were decided for decades without them based on testimony. Anyway, respectful of the Judge's verdict. Tragic case all-around around. things I want to address regarding #kelseyfitzsimmons 1. Restraining orders can be issued based on one-sided allegations—not proven facts. That’s literally how the law works. That’s why Kelsey asked to see the affidavit to see what she was even being accused of. 2. Kelsey has NO history of confirmed or publicly documented domestic violence. the allegations come from Justin himself— not a prior issue. So please don’t tell me “she has a history of domestic violence” bc that’s not the truth. 3. Just because you’ve been cleared by your work to return, does NOT mean life experiences & trauma can’t trigger you anymore. Kelsey obviously felt her life was falling apart & she felt she had no other way out— that IS a mental health crisis. It’s not that difficult to understand. 4. Justin taking the dog was a douche bag move. The standard for removing a child & removing an animal are different whether you like it or not. STOP getting upset with ME for something that I cannot control. 5. When you think about the situation with Noonan, why would Kelsey shoot him? What’s the motive there? She trusted him not even 10 minutes earlier to hold her baby. I’m sorry but there is SO MUCH reasonable doubt for this judge to find Kelsey guilty. 6. Noonan, I believe, thought Kelsey could’ve been a threat, which is why he did shoot. I don’t blame him for reacting out of fear, BUT that’s his job on the line. I think he is trying to save his ass now— because the repercussions are huge. I hate to tell all of you who believe Noonan, but your explanations & arguments fall flat every single time.
