Day 91
Decentralize to Scale

Most blockchain networks today still rely on gossip. Nodes simply forward data to peers, hoping it spreads quickly enough. It works but it’s slow, redundant, and fragile under scale.
Optimum @get_optimum changes this using network coding, specifically 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐑𝐋𝐍𝐂).
Instead of forwarding raw packets, nodes mix data mathematically before sending it. Each transmission carries a unique, encoded combination of the original data. The receiver doesn’t need every single packet, just enough combinations to reconstruct the full message.
Technically, this reduces duplicate traffic, increases bandwidth efficiency, and ensures data keeps flowing even when some packets are lost.
Think of it like solving a puzzle: instead of waiting for every exact piece, you receive smart clues that let you rebuild the whole picture faster.
For Ethereum, this is a game changer.
Lower propagation latency means validators receive blocks quicker, gain more time to select profitable bids, and reduce missed opportunities. At scale, this directly impacts performance, efficiency, and revenue.
From simple gossip to mathematical propagation Optimum is redefining how blockchains move data.
