@cybersection8 @poopswag34 I’m def not insanely smart myself 😭 I needed extra time on math tests and I’m a film major. I’m just saying there’s well documented cases of people with ASD who are insanely smart. Human calculators, modern day scientists, and likely people like Albert Einstein 🤷♀️

If you watch any of those dozens of YouTube documentaries on autistic children the parents frequently say their kids were completely and totally normally for a year or two before becoming autistic and regressing

@_bone_broth @poopswag34 Children can’t usually speak well, make friends, utilize fine and gross motor skills, eat a variety of solid foods, or communicate why they’re upset until 1-2. Of course that’s when development deviates, it’s when you can notice the deviation

@cybersection8 @poopswag34 but you have to be dogshit at them to get a ASD diagnosis. Not to mention lack of motor skills, making friends, needing an AAC, etc. Yet there are plenty of people w autism who have those traits who are insanely smart. There’s a reason it’s an incredibly common stereotype

Also there are many traits you have to have since childhood to get a diagnosis, including communication and social emotional understanding. Many people with OCD are perfectly fine with those things
