A Zimbabwean family of five who sold all their belongings and borrowed US $10 000 to relocate to the UK have reportedly been deported. The family included a husband, wife, two children, and the wife’s late sister’s daughter. After spending about two years in the UK, the wife allegedly decided to act on past grievances against her husband. Since she was the main visa holder with a work permit and the rest were dependents, she reported to authorities that she wanted to remove her husband from her visa, effectively ending their marriage. The husband was then notified to leave the country within a short period. Faced with debt and uncertainty, he sought legal help and revealed that one of the children was not biologically theirs and had not been legally adopted or declared during their relocation process. Authorities followed up, and DNA tests confirmed the child was not related to either of them. This violation led to legal consequences, and despite attempts to reverse the situation, the case had already escalated. In the end, the entire family was deported back to Zimbabwe.
