I worked in an all-white company where exclusion was subtle but felt. I was the only one not invited to a colleague’s wedding, I saw by the fancy haircuts at the Monday Team Meeting.
Months later, two Black colleagues joined and we sat together in most team sessions.
CEO: “Mhlaba, are you forming a black caucus there?”
Me: “Black is needed in an all white assembly.”
Stared at him with my resting face and he flushed pink 😅
