@zackphill Zach they need to listen. After all he is a winger and they’re in desperate need of a number two centre and a top pair defenceman. If they can do something like Knies for Frondell and 4th overall you pull the trigger.

Just thinking maybe the Leafs shouldn’t trade a 23-year-old, 6’3”, 230-pound power forward with a good AAV with term

@Leafslatest Lucky the Flyers didn’t realize that or they wouldn’t have traded him. 🙄

Leafs hired a coach their stars like. One of the reasons they like him is his coaching style. This is how you build a good culture.

If there's one thing we've learned over the last 24 hours in Leafs Nation, it's to expect the unexpected. John Chayka traded Joseph Woll. He hired Jim Hiller. So here's a question: What if the Leafs don't take Gavin McKenna No. 1 overall? 👀

The new Leafs management must have come to the conclusion that Joseph Woll could not be depended upon when needed. He has upper echelon talent: staying healthy in all kinds of ways was always the question with Woll.

@mirtle What’s confusing? Sundin loading up on Swedes. Say hello to Stenberg.

Getting Ersson back is interesting because it makes me wonder if Hildeby or Stolarz are also on the way out.

Its only fitting that when it mattered most, Games 5-7 Mitch Marner showed up for the Golden Knights like he did for the Leafs.

@CanadasLeafs It wasn’t even just speed and skill. They also played physical, finished their checks and won their share of puck battles.

The Knights/Canes was a matchup of the old school NHL vs the new school NHL. Speed and skill wins in the NHL now. Congratulations to the Hurricanes, they were consistently the best team in the playoffs, deserve to be Cup Champs.

@thegoldenmuzzy He is a winger and less than 6 foot. Thats literally it. He is still seen as a top 2 or 3 player in the draft. Positional value of a RHD or big bodied C always wins out on draft day

Why does it feel like Ivar Stenberg’s draft stock has been falling? I thought he was going first overall?

Morgan Rielly has been Canada's worst dman at @IIHFHockeyWorld Championships, which says a lot. I'm adding at least a 2nd/3rd just to have a team take him off the #LeafsForever books.

Part of Easton Cowan’s game is slowing things down and dictating with the puck on his stick but I’d really like to see him play with more pace overall. Long season for him, but I’ve been underwhelmed with his play in the postseason for the Marlies.

@coreylandsberg He hasn’t faced a Boston, TB or Florida who would take his head off if he got near the net. He’s fine in a non physical game which he has enjoyed this year.

Do any of those idiots who think Mitch Marner played like this for the Leafs realize that if he did play like this for the Leafs, they would probably have won the Stanley Cup last year?

Did Connor McDavid grow up a die hard Leafs fan? Yes. Was his bedroom a self-described a shrine to the Leafs? Yes. Was Mats Sundin his idol? Yes. Did he say being a Maple Leaf would be an absolute dream come true? Yes. Did he sign a 2-year extension to put Edmonton on the clock? Yes. Did he recently say the organization has taken a step back? Yes. Is this a serious blow to Edmonton's chances of keeping him? Yes. Should Edmonton trade him within a year if they know he's going to walk? Yes. Is it at all possible either side would look to expedite that process given where the team's at? Yes. Would a trade with Toronto likely be Edmonton's only chance at getting a 1st overall pick back in a return for McDavid? Yes. Is winning a Stanley Cup in Toronto the white whale of the NHL? Yes. Gun to his head, if you asked Connor McDavid the two places he'd want to win a Stanley Cup the most, is there good reason to believe his answer would be Edmonton & Toronto? Yes. Are Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews buddies? Yes. Do they have the same agent? Yes. Would it be awkward owning 50 Wendy's restaurants while your team's two best players shoot McDonald's commercials? Yes. Would adding Connor McDavid instantly catapult the Leafs into the playoffs? Yes. Is there more work that would need to be done to solidify the Leafs as legit contenders? Yes. Is it possible Connor's top priorities today would disqualify the Maple Leafs as a potential destination? Yes. Should anything listed above be considered evidence that Connor McDavid is going to be a Maple Leaf at any point in his career? No. You can disagree or say it won't happen, but you can't deny any basis for the speculation. I'd be shocked if it happened. Just like I was shocked when the 12 ball popped up.
Neutral Zone Checks@NeutralZoneChek

@mcclusk What brings you to the conclusion that McDavid has "always" had Toronto at the back of his mind? Outside of Eastern media constantly pushing this, has McDavid ever said anything to suggest that? I don't think so.
