@IMAO_ They have to make a fun movie first. It seems they're very insecure about the early responses to this movie and don't believe it will be a hit.

“can i start you off with an appetizer, maybe 30 tortillas?” “god no, i can’t eat that many tortillas!” “how about if cut them up into triangles, fry them in seed oil, & serve them with some salsa?” “omg that sounds delightful”.

@basicwitgirl @starwars KOTOR and SWTOR have story in common and are both great for the storylines but not continuity. SWTOR story is super fun and there are 8 stories to play You'll find it so much better than KOTOR2 which is fun for classes and gameplay but is a huge step back in Star Wars writing.

OUT OF CURIOSITY… if I’m hoping to continue my Star Wars games journey once I finish Knights of the Old Republic 2, is SWTOR worth checking out for story continuation?? Or should I branch over to Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor??

@HariSel57511397 She also rejects him b/c of her career but leaves the door open to suggest that when doesn't need her career and maybe if he can back off from his or become stable, he's the one she'd choose. And it hits hard when he shows that he might not be there waiting... Realistic, maybe?

One of the other major black marks is that the show thought escorts were fonts of worldly, spiritual wisdom. When in reality, after seeing the podcast and Substack craze, these people are typically the most vapid and uninteresting types around.

@HariSel57511397 It did seem pretty true to life when so much about her character didn't. It actually frames her character very well and makes the implication that much about her that seems fake and performed, was indeed a performance and failed her when she couldn't keep it up. She was real here

@KevinLamb74 I still think they're good but not great. Revenge of the Sith is the type that you'll say was fantastic but never want to watch again. I happen to like the Phantom Menace best because it's an easy watch with all the core Star Wars, still... Star Wars. And the duel of the fates..

Something that really struck me while watching Revenge of the Sith in the theater again last year was just much better it plays as a 20 year old film than a contemporary one. I felt like I was attending a special screening of a film like The Wizard of Oz or Gone with the Wind, where the over-acting and melodramatic dialogue was just part of the experience that in no way was to the film's detriment. The Shakespearean themes, totally devoid of the irony and sarcasm that plagues so many modern movies, were quite impactful and the visuals, cinematography and especially the score were still absolutely amazing. Probably the best experience I had at the theater all year.

Stuff like this is why the 49ers have no interest in playing nice or avoiding being "petty" with him. He quit on the team, wouldn't even return phone-calls, after getting paid more money than 99.99% of people in the world will ever get and has enough time to spend it and show it off, but won't use the same phone to return a call about playing football again. If he doesn't show up, they don't have to pay him a dime. They will recoup at least a couple million for this season, if that happens. They do not owe this man anything.

@uscfan981 Brees? No way. People act like he's being crowned in the top 3 all time or something. He may not be the best ever but he's far from the *most* overrated. In fact, sometimes he's underrated. Marino is hyped so much I could see. Aikman ~ meh, he's never rated super high anyway

@uscfan981 No. I like Revenge of the Sith but not #1, and definitely not Rogue One that high. Return of the Jedi is in there and I go back and forth with RotS and The Phantom Menace - I just like the feel and the optimism...and Qui Gon. A New Hope could be there too

Not going to boost this account but this is a terrible way to approach life. This attitude is the reason kids are growing up never hearing of Robin Hood or King Arthur. They have been deprived of their inheritance. Resist the tyranny of the present moment.

@Coach_Yac Considering that he's competing for #3 receiver for the next 3 years with Evans and Pearsall, it doesn't seem like a big deal. If he excels in his strengths and was obviously drafted for them, he'll do well.

Larry Krueger on what he saw with WR De'Zhaun Stribling at 49ers rookie minicamp: “Stribling is a big receiver. When you see him up close, you’re really hit by his overall size as a receiver. He’s 6'2" and long arms. He looks the part. But then when you start watching him on the short stuff and the stop and start, and the short and intermediate route running drills, he just looked very— not explosive. Very deliberate through those drills. He’s got 4.36 speed and that’s great long speed, but I don’t see that crazy quickness that makes you a good route runner in the short or intermediate areas. They got the ball to him two ways at Ole Miss, hitches, where they got the ball to him right away and let him run after the catch, and then down the field throws. He didn’t have the most defined and refined route tree, and just watching him in the drills, it was very deliberate. He’s needs a lot of work. He can run. He’s got big vertical speed and I can see why you’d want to get the ball in his hands at the line of scrimmage off hitches, but as far as being able to run really precise routes all on the short and intermediate, I don’t think he’s anywhere close to Antonio Williams the Clemson receiver. Who is way more polished. Stribling is big, he’s long and he’s explosive, but he’s slow in and out of the breaks and he looked very deliberate going through that stuff. Is that because he didn’t want to make a mistake or is that his full speed? I don’t know, but it wasn’t fast enough. And it wasn’t smooth enough.” via: @sportslarryk

@TheGingerPerks If you get the spark you should definitely check all of them out! Starting at 1 can be a slog, though. I would suggest trying 9 as that's the love letter to 1-6. Once you've seen that you can see what the pixel ones are about and you'll likely be inspired to try one. 8 is my fav

@TheGingerPerks 8 was my favorite for a long time. My brother loved 9. Others love 7 and Tactics, but both were a little too retro for my liking. Now they all feel dated so the remasters or 7 remake are better. I'd recommend picking one that looks good to you and starting there. They're all good

@jacobfalach1 I'll never be done with Star Wars but just like bad fanfiction, I push the Disney stories out of my brain. There are lots of old stories in books and games to explore. Some of the new stuff in the games is very good too

I am done with Star Wars.  That is a sentence I never thought I would say. If you know me in real life, or have me on social media, you know that since a child I have been obsessed with the franchise.  I would bond with my Dad watching the six movies on Friday nights, over and over. I watched The Clone Wars while eating cereal every morning before school.  I dressed up as Jar Jar Binks four halloweens in a row.  I still stayed up until dawn waiting for the new Episodes of the new Maul: Shadow Lord to drop. That all ends today.  It's no secret that Disney is a left-leaning network. I mean, one of their most recent releases for Star Wars featured what can best be described as Communist Lesbian Space witches.  And don’t get me started on the girlboss-obsessed Sequel trilogy, and the transgender clone trooper… I could go on forever. Anyway, these inserts of progressive ideology into Star Wars have been huge blows to me as a fan, but not enough of one to make me abandon being a fan entirely. I truly believe that the Conservatives were retaking culture (before imploding on themselves over Israel), and like Target and Bud Light, Disney would eventually go back to honoring George Lucas’ vision of story telling like they promised they would when he signed the contract. However, yesterday the line was finally crossed. Mark Hamill, the actor who played Luke Skywalker, posted on X calling for the death of the President. And if you recall, this comes just weeks after a gunman tried to murder him at the WH correspondent's dinner.  In an age where violence and assassinations of Conservatives is all too common, an influential actor posting something so reckless to the masses is unacceptable.  Disney fired Gina Carano for drawing a comparison between how the Left in our country was encouraging people to hate their neighbors who differed politically, and how the Nazis did the same to Germans getting them to hate their Jewish neighbors.  If they fired her for a fair historical comparison, they sure as hell can at least release a statement about Mark and bar him from future Star Wars events.  He may think he is Luke Skywalker off of Camera, but he is not. Luke fought for the rebellion, which sought to reestablish the democracy of the Republic. He may think Trump is Palpatine, but Trump didn’t use corruption to get elected. He won both the electoral vote and the popular vote. Democracy in its most basic form.  What Mark is doing goes against Democracy. Maybe he should take a word of advice from the Jedi that trained him and reflect.  “If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will.” -Yoda

My father is a very technical person. Easy to have a conversation with him about orbital mechanics, almost impossible to talk to him about people. He doesn't really go for movies or other media, either. If it's primarily focused on characters and story, he isn't interested. His favorite "movie" is episode 5 of From the Earth to the Moon, because it's about the design and development of the Apollo Lunar Module at Grumman. But when he was young, he watched Star Wars fresh in theaters with his buddies and became obsessed with it. Once I came along, he shared it with me, and it was the only non-technical media we could enjoy together. Anytime a Star Wars movie came out we saw it together in theaters. We saw the re-releases together in theaters. We saw the Prequels together, which we agreed sucked but it was really no big deal. We saw The Force Awakens in theaters and, like a lot of people, we thought it was at least better than the Prequel trilogy, even if it was kind of a retread and a bit silly. By the time The Last Jedi released in theaters, we already pretty much knew it was going to be bad. The reviews were pretty clear about that. But who cares? It's a way to spend an afternoon together and you can at least talk about the movie, everything they could have done better, where they screwed up continuity. It would still be fun, so we went and saw it like we always did. By about the halfway point, I noticed everyone in the family was visibly uncomfortable in their seats. Nobody was having a good time, actually they seemed genuinely unsettled. Nobody wanted to be the first to walk out, either. We sat there like that until the unbearable end of the movie and then filed out of the theater in silence. Actually I think the whole audience was pretty quiet, too. Nobody in my family said a word. Someone suggested food; we'd caught a matinee. That seemed to be the excuse everyone needed to forget about the whole thing. Nobody said anything about the movie. My dad and I haven't talked about Star Wars since, not once.

There's something uniquely and almost spiritually bad about The Last Jedi, you'll commonly hear people say "I watched it and realized I was done with Star Wars forever" as if it the film reached into the viewer's soul and snuffed out a last flicker of childlike wonder
