I've finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good soccer. ... I plead: 'A pretty move, for the love of God.' - Eduardo Galeano

@_Zeets your book was half of a thoughtful Xmas gift from my daughter. Looking forward to reading it.

@sidlowe really enjoyed your piece on Jesus Navas, a player who I have long admired. You are my favorite Guardian writer & I read most everything you write despite barely following La Liga. Have a great holiday.

@JohnBrewin_ I bet the Glazers can't believe their luck in finding this mark.

@THEChrisKessell I'm sure what Garber is most pleased with is the Apple cash, which is way more than what MLS made before. Probably banking on a World Cup bump for the league
English

Not many people voted, but... 30k or less on each game.
This points back to my idea that basically the only fans MLS really have are ones that attend games. It doesn't draw casual soccer fans or casual sports fans.
It isn't hitting the right nerve to make it a compelling watch

Chris Kessell@THEChrisKessell
Garber declines to share the Apple TV subscription numbers, but says "we're very pleased with the numbers... We have over a million viewers watching those games on a Saturday night." 1,000,000 / 14 = 71,428.5 So 72k per game. We KNOW Messi is the driver of the 1M.

@Malachians It's unfortunate how often you have had to make statements along these lines. I appreciate how you highlight that mental health is part of our overall health. Thank you for using your platform that way. Be well.

Footballers are people with an extraordinary talent in one particular area, in every other aspect of life they are no different to you, me and everyone else. How people deal with depression, stress and darkness is rarely perfect and it’s extremely complex. Human issues transcend sport, they’re medical issues.

@sgevans Might be keeping accounts as a record of sorts of what they have posted in the past. (And could be hedging their bets as well.)

@PulpLibrarian Loved so many of the covers that Kirby did for Pratchett. His art was exactly right for those books.

@DavidAmoyal Thank you for the positivity of so many of your tweets. Nice to see words of empathy/sympathy/caring on this site.

@Yokhin Totally agree, sometimes it is maybe good; but sometimes it is maybe shit

Especially since Gattuso left.

Pisa has to be the most overrated place in Italy by a wide margin

For too long we’ve been giving our excess military equipment to local police departments when we should have been giving it to the FTC to enforce the Do Not Call list
A Raven@NoGravityHere
the solution is to give the FTC the power to actually enforce the National Do Not Call Registry more agents to actually investigate offenders
