@c_vinchenzo Yes I think he becomes a hub for their distribution network. This solves the overhead crisis because now those stiffs will have shit to do, it just will not be comics related In most cases. This was always the end game.

Is Eric July actually working for Hachette Book Group as a shipper?
Sly Tony Sylvester@SlyBailBonds

@c_vinchenzo "We’re excited to welcome Rippaverse as a new distribution partner, expanding our reach" The deal isn't just about the books it's giving them a distribution center in Texas. Whoever is guiding Eric is much smarter than him and I think he gets the last laugh just not in comics

@EthanVanSciver @sorrowen I can’t wait to see who he blames when the mainstream rejects him too. The Rippa-faithful will probably find some way to blame it on Comicsgate.

This was really the last move to make, and I guess we'll see how it goes for Eric. His fans are excited! In general though, crap is crap. Rippaverse is doopty doo, and no matter where you put it or how many people you offer it to, everyone who isn't an acolyte of Eric's, or on his payroll, will come to the same conclusion. It sucks.
T Amazing Ape@SuperTiso

First, let's congratulate @EricDJuly for expanding his business in a huge way that now he's finally come full circle to sell to the DIRECT MARKET. Now, let's laugh at him when his overpriced terrible books do not sell and sit on shelves until heavily discounted. We will win.

I was thinking the same thing! Most of Eric's $$$ gets eaten up by overhead. Fire the staff down to barebones, which he seems to have done, clear out the warehouse, close it down and then use Hachette to publish and distribute Rippaverse! That could be why he wants to slam out 100 comics this year. Pretty fun stuff.
Reggie@ReggieGrande

@EthanVanSciver Guess he wont be needing his warehouse, which may or may not have had something to do with this.

Smart move. Will probably keep the Rippaverse rolling through 2026, though no amount of distribution will stop people from realizing most of their comics are mediocre stories at best.

Nearly four years ago, we launched Isom #1. Today we're announcing a worldwide sales and distribution deal with Hachette Book Group (@HachetteUS). This is the biggest move in our history. Watch the full announcement.

@EthanVanSciver My takeaway is that ultimately he sees this as a W for the Rippaverse because he is willing to give more than 50% of his earnings to Hachette and Rippassend when he finishes his novel in 2045.

Yeah, the entire thing was shrinking. RIPPASEND was meant to keep Rippaverse afloat, but it was actually mostly a drag. Eric signed up with this distributer through their Stable Distribution program, which is like their good will for indies promotion. They'll take 50% of his money to negotiate for shelf space at Walmart, Target, Costco and Barnes and Noble. There is a pretty good returns program for these retailers, so Eric's stuff MUST sell or it's gonna hurt. But this explains crap like DETENTION CREW. I can picture that slop at Costco. It might work. I'm glad to know about it. Once the first CyberFrog novel is complete, I'll talk to them too!

@ReggieGrande @EthanVanSciver Wait, wait, wait. So RIPpaverse- which spun off RIPpasend for publishing and distribution -is... offloading publishing and distribution to a third-party publishing and distribution company? Am I missing something?

@william37199107 You make it sound like this makes the Rippaverse a better business and if it is, why wouldn't he make the deal for himself?

@AlutaMax @GFFmg @HachetteUS Eric was making a parallel economy, now hes working with the people he was standing against. You could almost say, he sided with the enemy, after getting peoples money.

@Weaponx1011 True. If there was any doubt about the Rippaverse future, this announcement has surely changed that.

@AlutaMax Most people don’t realize this but you can’t usually tell the success of any company until the first 5 years, then you’re good for another 10 years and if it keeps growing after that then the company is solid. The fact that this is happening at year 4 is insane
