Three years. 17 medals later. Still on top. Over 600 entries this year and we brought home 3 more golds, making it three years straight of walking away with wins. At this point, it’s not luck, it’s consistency. It’s dedication. It’s legacy. And I’m grateful to still be in the mix with so many talented cultivators pushing the craft forward.

@Ben_grows Find me a strain that holds up to 100+heat and I'll gladly grow outside. I tried outside once a few years ago and the heat just killed them all.

I always plant a few seeds outside in line with the natural season. Missed my usual planting window around 4/20 this year. Not gonna lie…I was ready. The lunar calendar lined up (April 17–21), and that’s typically when I like to get seeds in the ground. But when I checked the 10-day forecast… cold nights. Well below 50°F, a few dipping under 40°F. That’s a no-go for me. I want my root zone above 50°F for solid germination, 55°F+ is really where things start moving right. So instead of forcing it, I held off. Next window is just after the new moon May 15–17 so I’ll prepare for that and be flexible likely plant on the 16th or 17th. Weekend vibes. Kids in the garden. Seeds in the dirt. Good memories 🌱 In my experience, waiting for the right conditions always outperforms rushing into a bad environment. You can’t cheat “the control” even outdoors it’s outdoors

How many of you are planning to grow a few plants in your backyard this season?

Friendly reminder - if an account is stealing photos, it’s probably a scam. This one stole my photo so I’d say they are untrustworthy at best ‼️‼️‼️

Serious question, Why does everyone who's green to growing think it's a great idea to put up a greenhouse in the spring?

@Johnnypatriot26 I keep my compost low and spread out, not piled high. I cover it with a breathable cloth to hold moisture and protect it I’m not trying to heat it upI’m running it like a vermiculture system. Keep it cool keep it moist and let the worms and biology do the work.

At the end of each season I pile up all my green waste and windfalls, then cover it with the leaves that drop from my trees. Let it sit and break down over winter. Dug into it today and it turned out pretty nice. I’ve always enjoyed making my own soil.

@OleputKing I recommend putting a seed in dirt pot and learn as you go. We all enjoy it in our own way but nothing beats hands on experience

@J_bunchOnumbers I know a lot of people who run this style it’s just not for me. I’m sure it works great and I’ve got nothing against it…comfrey & kelp but that’s about as far as I go with slow fermentation

@Ben_grows It’s actually not stinky. It almost smells pickled more than a ferment. That’s why I tried it, said it doesn’t smell appealing to animals and they don’t try to dig it up. And my dog is in the yard with access to the pot if he wanted. teraganix.com/products/bokas…

@J_bunchOnumbers Yeah I’ve heard of it, just not really my style. I don’t like having that stinky stuff around cus kids get into everything so I do it my own way. Slower process, but cleaner and works for me.

Looks great. Have you ever done/heard of Bokashi composting? Something interesting to do with scraps, I did a few five gallon buckets to test it out. Let it ferment for 30 days once it was full, and placed it in a 100 gallon container with soil. I checked in 7 days and it was almost all gone, it broke down so fast. It’s really impressive.

@FloridaMagoo The first sentence was perfect but then you added a few extra words that makes you look rude so I’ll let you read the new rule and figure it out yourself bc I don’t know your states laws. It’s legal where I’m at so I’m planting a few outside
