@chevalier_Percy @graceriensche I’ve never heard of Lutheran’s having icons or seven candles on either side of an altar like we do.
English

@CatholicABear @graceriensche In that case, looking at the image I’m not sure why you’d think it was Roman at all.

@chevalier_Percy @graceriensche Notice the last bit:
“this may be leading some to believe we became Catholic.”
And the bit where I said “Oh, I see”
Meaning that I didn’t see it before your comment?
Try and ‘put two and two together’
Meaning - no - we don’t “have a high opinion of Lutherans”
English

@CatholicABear @graceriensche I wasn’t aware Rome had such a high opinion of the Lutherans

I get sad when I think about how faithful Protestant Christians have no idea that their rejection of the Catholic Faith places a ceiling on how close they can get to Christ.
It's like, you want to get closer to Christ but you are sabotaging yourself. And you have absolutely no clue the depths of intimacy you are excluding yourself from... because in your mind you think being Catholic and close to Jesus is impossible.
Someone propagandized you into thinking up is down and down is up, albeit in an intricately nuanced way that doesn't make it feel so.
Thank God you have been baptized and at least know Jesus, but know that you can never become as holy and united to Him as you are called to until you convert and come Home to His Church.
And stop using bad Catholics as your excuse. Read the read lives of the saints. Adopt their practices. Get off the milk; it's time for you to eat the meat!

@SwipeWright Isn’t it obvious that God exists though?
The universe had to come from somewhere.
Without God there’s no objective right and wrong, only opinions.

As an atheist who used to believe something like this, the rise of gender ideology forced me to take the L.
I'm still an atheist, though unfortunately I think the saying “When men stop believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing —they believe in anything," has some merit.

Denying infant baptism and the connection to abortion:
I've observed that many of the arguments that some Protestants make against infant baptism are analogous to the arguments made by pro-abortionists for abortion/infanticide:
“Infants can't choose, think, speak, talk, believe, etc.”
Baptists who deny infant baptism are arguing against the full human viability of the infant.
Yet the Old and New Testaments speak of infants as believing and praising God.
I have 8 children - all baptized as babies. They became BELIEVERS at baptism. They never “became believers” later on. They believed in Jesus and prayed at ages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… all the way into their 20s. They were born again as infants. Because babies are fully viable humans.
For thou art he that hast drawn me out of the womb: my hope from the breasts of my mother. (Ps 21:10)
