Mrs Cedar lost her Yorkie yesterday - Pooh was a five year cancer survivor. She passed away unexpectedly after falling asleep in my wife’s arms just before 6 PM. If you wrote a script of tbe perfect life for a little 4 pound dog I could not think of a thing that was left out.

@yaboieljefe I checked it out and that is correct. But apparently the flag is routinely replaced with confederate, panthers, and others.

Last week liberals had a melt down over a Confederate Flag flying proudly in the wind on Lake Norman and visible from I-77. A couple of libs even called NC SHP and 911 to report the flag, then expressed outrage that the cops wouldn’t do anything. I realize this is a shock to Yankee transplants and West Coasters. But if you get off the interstates and drive across the Carolinas on secondary roads you’ll quickly realize these flags are pretty darn common. Trust me no one’s going to steal your children or burn a cross in your front yard. In the South people continue to fly the Confederate flag primarily as a symbol of Southern heritage, local pride, and regional identity, often honoring ancestors who fought in the Civil War. Others use it to represent rebellion, cherished rural lifestyle, or a desire for limited government. But be warned it is also a flashing reminder that FA/FO applies big time in rural Carolinas. Y’all come back now ya hear!

The Seattle Times received the following tip from New York Times best-selling author Rebecca Morris after she believed that she saw a Confederate flag flying in her neighborhood: “Hi. Suddenly there is a Confederate flag flying in front of a house in my Greenwood neighborhood. It is at the north-east corner of 92nd and Palatine, just a block west of 92nd and Greenwood Ave N.

If gets rapidly worse for CBS today.

A second memo from Bari Weiss and Tom Cibrowski says CBS News Radio is shutting down. Here's the memo: Today, we informed our CBS News Radio team and approximately 700 affiliated stations that we will end the service on May 22, 2026. Unfortunately, this decision means that all positions within the CBS News Radio team are being eliminated.  We understand how difficult this news is for our staff and their colleagues, who have worked side by side with us to cover some of the most significant stories of our time. While this was a necessary decision, it was not an easy one.  A shift in radio station programming strategies, coupled with challenging economic realities, has made it impossible to continue the service.  We are sharing this announcement now to fulfill our commitments to our radio partners and affiliates, which require advance notice of the service’s conclusion. For nearly 100 years, CBS News Radio has delivered original reporting to the nation—from Edward R. Murrow’s World War II reports in London to today’s daily White House updates.  Our signature broadcast, “World News Roundup,” remains the longest-running newscast in the country.  CBS News Radio served as the foundation for everything we have built since 1927. The coming weeks will be difficult for the team members who have worked tirelessly at CBS News Radio.  We are committed to supporting these valued colleagues with care and respect as we wind down operations.  They have been critical to our success and remain treasured friends and professionals.  We thank them deeply for their contributions. Thank you all for your dedication and for the compassion you show one another as we move forward. Bari and Tom

A convicted murder who had his Life Prison Sentence effectively commuted by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper via an Executive Order in 2024 was arrested after a robbery at a Belmont Lowe’s store Thursday morning that led to a two county high-speed chase. Belmont Police say Reginald Cannon robbed someone at the Lowe’s on Caldwell Farm Road at gunpoint, before taking off in a Dodge Charger. Officers say they quickly caught up with Cannon before he eventually crashed into a parked garbage truck on I-85, leading to his arrest. Now, Cannon faces multiple felony charges. Since his release in 2024 Cannon has had continued run ins with law enforcement including a February arrest for larceny in Mecklenburg County. Cannon was released from prison in 2024 with credit for time served (10, 877 days), with the agreement of Mecklenburg County District Attorney Spencer Merriweather and Judge William R. Bell.

Hello Americans, I'm Paul Harvey. Stand by for news!" Such a long way network television has fallen and yet this comes as no surprise that the network of Stephen Colbert is in a flat spin.

Here's the full memo from CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss and CBS News president/executive editor Tom Cibrowski about today's layoffs: Good morning, Today we are reducing the size of our workforce, and employees who are affected will be notified by the end of the day. We recognize that this is a difficult time for those who will be leaving CBS News.  Because these aren't just names on a list.  They are talented, committed colleagues who have been critical to our success.  We'll treat them all with care and respect. It’s no secret that the news business is changing radically, and that we need to change along with it.  New audiences are burgeoning in new places, and we are pressing forward with ambitious plans to grow and invest so that we can be there for them.  That means some parts of our newsroom must get smaller to make room for the things we must build to remain competitive. But these are very hard choices and today is a difficult day. This is a tough message to receive at any time, and especially in the middle of an exceptionally intense news cycle.  This organization is working its heart out to deliver for our audience.  We're so grateful to all of you, and we thank you for handling this difficult news with compassion.

@CedarPosts For years, one of my neighbors flew a confederate flag over his garage. My kids were offended by it. One day, we had a long conversation about history. I told them that instead of being offended, they should look at it as a symbol of how far we've come as a nation.
