For the people who did NOT READ MY ENTIRE POST AND ARE JUST RESPONDING to the HEADLINES… You are MISSING THE POINT. A military with EVERY SEGMENT OF SOCIETY REPRESENTED would make the DEPLOYMENT of TROOPS and foreign wars LESS likely as there would be MORE accountability at the highest levels of power. Right now, the all-volunteer force means the sons and daughters of politicians, billionaires, Hollywood elites, and the ruling class are almost never the ones in uniform. That makes it far too easy for elected officials to vote for endless foreign adventures — they suffer no personal cost. When every family — rich or poor, red or blue, from every race, creed, and zip code — has skin in the game, things change dramatically. Congress would think long and hard before sending American troops into another faraway war that isn’t vital to our national survival. No more cavalier decisions. No more “other people’s kids” dying while their own kids stay safe at Ivy League schools or in Beverly Hills. That’s not pro-war. That’s anti-reckless-war. It’s the same reason universal service in places like Israel and Switzerland hasn’t turned them into warmongers — it forces leaders to feel the real human cost before they pull the trigger. The cruelest of ironies is that what could finally undo and destroy the Presidency of Donald J Trump isn’t biased Democrat Lawfare, or paid boomer protests, or District Court judges nullifying his Executive Orders, or Rino Republicans refusing to pass his (bloated) Big Beautiful Bill, a “stolen election” or even an Assassin’s bullet. What could finish off the 47th President’s agenda for good will be if he goes against his gut and drags America into another Middle East quagmire of blood, and wastes more trillions of American treasure like his predecessors. War with Iran would be Trump’s Afghanistan, his Vietnam, and ultimately his political Waterloo. Iran is a Theocratic dictatorship that sponsors terror but has invaded not even one country. They are not Iraq, which until relatively recently, was not a unified country but a group of rival tribes before it became a British colonial construct. Besides Iran being “the crossroads of civilization,” they are much more homogenous, roughly 2/3rds Persian ethnicity and didn’t bend a knee of break when attacked by Iraq during their 10 year bloody war. They fought tooth and nail for their very survival. And their 90 million people will fight for their survival again. It was Britain, and (funded by) the United States that overthrew a democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mossedegh in 1953 by using hired mobs in a coup that lead to the installation of the Shah Pahlavi’s 27 year reign of authoritarianism and human rights abuses. All in the name of Iranian Oil. So here we are again. If American foreign policy is anything, it is immune from learning or even acknowledging recent history from either political party, leaving millions dead in it’s willful ignorance and arrogance. I am praying that our President doesn’t start another war. President Trump could still be our Abraham Lincoln but if he ignores history and our recent military misadventures, he could also end up being another George W.
