1. Sleep with windows and balcony door open. When it’s cold, there’s no wind, put a fan facing outwards 1m in front of the window and let it run at full speed for a couple minutes. This ventilates the room and fills it with fresh cold air.
2. Close the windows and blinds when you wake up. This keeps the cold air inside and minimizes heat entrance from outside.
3. If you really need to ventilate, take a wet towel and put it over your window so it hangs down and open the window slightly. Water evaporation uses a lot of energy therefore the air that enters your apartment will not be as hot as the air outside.
4. Do not cook anything in the oven. Use the microwave. Minimize air fryer usage. I personally put two eggs in a bowl and mix them and microwave in short 20s periods to make omelet.
5. Don’t use your PC. I know it’s hard I’m struggling myself but it’s not worth it. You can try if you want but you’ll realize how much heat it actually produces. Laptop is fine if it’s not getting hot.
6. Spray some water on your body if you feel hot. Or make your clothes wet if you wear them. I’m naked most of the time.
7. Lay on your floor instead of the bed/sofa. It’s colder. Alternatively if you need the soft surface lean against the wall. Walls and floors take your body’s heat.
8. Point a fan to your face. If you follow all of the steps above you won’t even have to do this. I don’t need to cuz my apartment’s cold enough. Even when it’s 37C outside.

Uk and some European oomfs, how are you handling this heatwave?
