To reiterate this point, the IRGC's intelligence unit has published two videos today in which they arrest several Iranians for filming and sharing videos of US/Israeli strikes from the windows of their homes.
Open source investigators have a moral duty to protect Iranians who are trying to document this conflict despite knowing the potential risk to their safety.
Please refrain from posting the POV coordinates of videos filmed from Iranian homes that could reveal people's addresses. The coordinates you post might be later used by the government to find and arrest people.

A kind note to fellow open source researchers: Do not post the coordinates of videos from Iran that reveal the home addresses of people, particularly if they're chanting anti-government slogans or showing dissent. It could put them at risk of being identified and detained.

We are aware of recent reports regarding targeted phishing attacks that have resulted in account takeovers of some Signal users, including government officials and journalists. We take this very seriously.
To be clear: Signal’s encryption and infrastructure have not been compromised and remain robust. These attacks were executed via sophisticated phishing campaigns, designed to trick users into sharing information – SMS codes and/or Signal PIN – to gain access to users’ accounts. 1/4

We published this piece 3 hours ago, and since then, two more oil tankers have reportedly been attacked: one coast the coast of the Emirates, the east of Oman, further out at sea.

Since Monday, just three oil and gas tankers have crossed the Strait of Hormuz, according to @Kpler data. It's a de facto closure, says @pickeringenergy: “You've got a significant number of vessels on either side of the strait but no one is willing to go through.”

Iran is systematically downgrading (destroying) the ratings of tourist attractions and hotels across the Persian Gulf - in the Emirates, Dubai, Bahrain. An unprecedented tactic. One for the annals of military-political strategy. Books will be written about this, students will study it. I already know of one academic course that has included it as a case study.
Winners: Europe, and in particular: Switzerland.

The fighter jet that reportedly crashed in Kuwait is a USAF F-15E.
Based on the-twin-engine, horizontal stabilizers, vertical stabilizers, and undercarriage highlight the aircraft as a F-15E.
The 494th Fighter Squadron deployed (12) F-15E to CENTCOM AOR on January 21, 2026.

Two tanker incidents today. First, the SKYLIGHT (9330020), which was reportedly attacked and its crew of 20 was evacuated. Important to note that this didn't happen in Strait of Hormuz, but near Oman. It's sanctioned by the U.S. since Dec. 2025. x.com/TankerTrackers…

SKYLIGHT (9330020) wasn't passing through the Strait of Hormuz. She's been anchored in the Musandam governorate of Oman (north of UAE at 26.288021, 56.266388) since 2026-02-22. This small 11K DWT tanker, mostly used for fueling other tankers, has been blacklisted by the US since 2025-12-18. Iran specifically hit one of their own. Tehran's tanker theatrics on full display.
