I'm seeing some gamers say Crimson Desert has set a new bar for the open world genre. I can't agree or disagree as I haven't played it but would like to say as someone whose favorite games ever fall into this category (albeit more crime sandbox stuff) I absolutely welcome this talk with open arms. The videogame industry desperately needs more competition in order to keep driving innovation. Some of the wizardry Pearl Abyss has pulled off with CD has shown more and more of the true power current gen consoles have which should excite everyone for the future.
