@DanCALmatters I am so sorry to hear of this, Dan. Doris had a powerful soul and was an adorable person to be around. She was funny, straightforward and adventurous. She will be missed by many. Please hang in there.

My wife, Lt. Col. Doris K. Winter (USAF, Ret.) died last night after a lengthy battle with the effects of stroke. She was 76 and native of Augusta, GA, who joined the AF in 1968 after college, one of the first women AF allowed to become staff officers. We were married 28 years.

My 107 year old mother, Glenna Lucille Hesse Walters, who lived through two world wars and two pandemics, died today after suffering a massive stroke. She was surrounded by three generations of descendants when she passed peacefully.
