Tonight, Jen and I were proud to induct nine history-making trailblazers into the California Hall of Fame. 🌟 These inductees remind us that California's story is constantly being written by the people who challenge what's possible and redefine leadership.

Proud to have State Senator Josh Becker in our corner — a leader who knows that tackling climate change and lowering costs go hand in hand. We’re building a California that leads on clean energy and delivers for working families.

“For him, and the tech bros that are supporting him,” said Lorena Gonzalez, head of the powerful California Labor Federation, “they don’t understand voters and they don’t understand the moment.” Great piece from Dustin on Matt Mahan’s early flop of a campaign running for CA-Gov.

The budget is up 75%, and nothing is 75% better. At Tuesday night’s debate — which I hope every single candidate will be at — I look forward to making the case, face-to-face, for a simple idea: If it’s not working, stop funding it. Fix it.

Thank you @DoloresHuerta for your courage and enduring leadership, and to all who have come forward. "Dolores Huerta Day" really has a ring to it 🌼🍇✊🏽 Historically our movements have canonized one male figurehead, even when women have built and run the movements alongside them. The women making history are doing so while navigating power dynamics which can easily take the form of exploitation. Similar to #MeToo, it's no surprise that women have faced abuse, from even our most celebrated heroes. But it's up to us to denounce it, stand with survivors, and define a better future. @closethegapCA is committed to elevating women's experiences and leadership so that we have the opportunity to build new systems and models of power at every level. On March 31st this year, let's celebrate the women!

The farm workers movement and a labor movement are much bigger than one man. @JenSiebelNewsom and I stand with the courageous women, like Dolores Huerta, who have stepped forward after decades of concealing pain and abuse. We're for justice. We're for truth. We're for transparency. And we will have the backs of these survivors.

The women who have come forward are carrying years of pain. Speaking about that takes real courage. Ana Murguia, Debra Rojas and Dolores Huerta are speaking with clarity and strength. I stand with them and condemn all instances of sexual assault. The United Farm Workers was built by a movement of people — especially women — and its legacy is bigger than one individual.
