What we call “UFOs” and “aliens” may be nothing more than the costumes of something far older, far stranger, and far more intelligent than humanity has ever imagined. We assume these visitors are physical beings in physical craft because we are physical beings who build physical craft. But the phenomenon may just be meeting us on our level, adopting a shape we can tolerate, a language we can recognize, and a technology we can conceptualize, even if none of it reflects its true nature. Which all evidence points toward. In truth, the intelligence behind these encounters most likely isn’t material at all, at least not in any way that fits our physics. If you listen to what every culture has ever said throughout recorded history, we are dealing with something vast, something much older than our species, older than civilization, perhaps older than the Earth itself. Something that is slipping into our realm only when and how it chooses. To communicate with a creature bound by senses, it must generate illusions of familiar forms. Humanoid bodies to “pilot” the craft we’re shown, metallic discs and glowing triangles to mirror the machines we use to move through space. Not because it needs such things, but because we do. And if this intelligence has been with us for ages, its influence has likely been subtle, patient, and persistent. It nudges civilizations, seeds myths, bends religions, and shapes our fears and fascinations. Not enough to reveal itself—never that—but just enough to steer us. Toward what, we don’t know. Perhaps we cannot ever know. Because to this entity, humanity may be as limited as a dog staring at its owner, trying to understand where humans go during the day or how food ends up in the can that gets opened each night. The gap between us and it might be just as wide and likely is even wider. Its motives, its ontology, its “life cycle” totally beyond human comprehension. We may be trying to map infinity with a crayon. Whether its intentions are benevolent or malevolent is impossible to say. What is clear is that it seems comfortable deceiving us. It allows itself to be named angel, demon, alien, ghost, future humanity, god…whatever suits the era….never correcting our misunderstandings. It shape-shifts through our history, hiding its real identity behind masks we invent because it benefits from our confusion. It manipulates us without explanation and influences us without consent. And the most unsettling possibility is this: It doesn’t care if we ever understand what it truly is. It only cares that we continue moving toward whatever goal it has set, a goal we cannot see, cannot stop, and cannot even begin to comprehend.

What an absolute scam American bought this 5 pounds of ground beef from Sam’s Club She put it on the scale, on camera, to show the true weight It’s only 4.14 pounds If you add the “meat diaper,” the absorbent pad under the ground beef, then it’s 5 pounds. We’re paying for the meat diaper

Real talk. I don’t know a single person who came back from Iraq and Afghanistan who isn’t fucked up and dealing with nothing but headaches from the VA. Not one. We accomplished absolutely nothing in either campaign except for destabilizing the entire Middle East and now these areas are the equivalent of Harvard University for terrorism. We aren’t going to accomplish anything.

Real talk: If you are not a veteran of Vietnam, the Cold War, ODS, post ODS, or the GWOT, your opinion on how we will fight in Iran means jack and shit to me. You had your chance to experience the life and have no conceptual idea of how America conducts ground based maneuver warfare. Just shut the fuck up already.

One of the worst types of bugman is the “if it isn’t in a study then it doesn’t exist” type Inability to see reality without it being parsed through some approved authority Avoid such types who can’t reason with their god given intuition

@Greenpig117 Some of us don’t have marathon hate we have extreme Bungie distrust which makes it hard to commit time, money and energy into a company that doesn’t give a care about their customer base.

Marathon hate from people who have never played it potentially making less people consider buying it is so sad, I’ve never seen a game this good go through something like this.

That's the AAA/live service trap in a nutshell. These games cost an absolute fortune to develop, market, and keep updated with constant new content, servers, events, etc. Even when they win big on sales or microtransactions, the margins get squeezed by insane production budgets, player churn, and the need to chase the next hype cycle and corporate investors squeezing the most. One hit doesn't really cover the overhead or fund the next bloated project anymore, especially if live service engagement drops off. Live service is not maintainable long term and expecting endless growth isn’t realistic. I personally think live services have gone out of control and don’t play many games thag have them.

Battlefield 6 was the best selling game of 2025, all studios that worked on it were hit with layoffs. Fortnite generated $6 billion in revenue in 2025, over 1,000 employees were just laid off. Even at the peak of success, AAA gaming is somehow collapsing rn

First it was no pointless forever wars. Then it was tactical strikes which “destroyed Irans nuclear capabilities “ Then it was more strikes because those capabilities weren’t actually destroyed. Then it was tactical strikes but no boots on the ground. Then it was “just amphibious marines in the strait” Now it’s just the 82 airborne with only 5,000 boots on the ground Do you not see where this is headed? Give me a break. It’s only escalating, doesn’t seem to be deescalating at all. I do hope you’re right.

For those of you who believe Iran will escalate and American boots will be on the ground, learn to read a room. Maybe you aren't old enough to remember August 2 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait. America started troop call-ups from National Guard and reserves August 7th for Desert Shield, to protect Saudi Arabia. It was a big deal. It was on the news everyday about the call-ups. That isn't happening now. America and allies put 500,000 ground troops in Saudi Arabia with tanks and equipment and it took months. That would lead to Desert Storm, which only lasted 100 hours, and the decimation of Saddam Hussein's military. Iran's Army is over 600,000 active duty and another 350,000 reserves. Iran's Army is 1 million. If you think 5,000 Marines and 3,000 from the 82nd is going to fight a ground war, you're nuts and should stop listening to the talking on heads on TV who have to say something 24 hours a day. America's involvement in this conflict will be over soon.

The problem with Iranian regime people is they fundamentally misunderstand western Anglo culture. We wish this was true, we sit here and pray that our f22s get to have fun. We love war, we are war tribes. War is our hobby. You see it as a threat, we see it as fun. We are legitimately crazy, you should surrender. We have entire divisions of guys excited to come kill you.

@KnownAsSys Those numbers gotta be completely bs. Bungie are known to make console games, from halo to destiny. Destiny pc players account for around 10% on dlc release. No way do people see Bungie making a new game and console players hardly buy it.
