@QuintenFrancois This dude has no idea that the starting 11 at the first world cup game have never played together.

@luketaylortcd Correct me if I’m wrong. But isn’t the host for the final already selected? The bid for USA, Canada, Mexico included the number of games in each country and the final host.

I’ll weigh in on the debate on where the 2030 World Cup final should be held. My answer? Casablanca. Madrid doesn’t need the final. And it’ll be a lot more culturally interesting to host it in Morocco.

@chris_sutton73 I think it’s changing back next World Cup. Too many 3rd round games are going to end up with meaningless results. For the competitive spirit that isn’t good for the game

I’d prefer the Groups to be decided on goal difference at the World Cup… the head to head results mean already Mexico and USA will finish top of their groups regardless of their final games… poorly thought out…

The issue with the VAR overturning is the fact that YES the goalscorer is onside, but one of the two players offside is less than a metre away from Patrick Beach and definitely impacts play. That is where the issue comes and we've seen goals ruled out multiple times

MLB does not have an active openly gay or bisexual player. Meaning all this gay propaganda has nothing to do with supporting their players. It has everything to do with breaking up the nuclear family and targeting Christian values.

@ianmSC Maybe the US can host again if the country ever recovers from Trump. For now its too xenophobic to invite the world to a world tournament.

@_marc_clark_ @yorkshireboy14 @lufcgrace Hypothetically. If all 4 of the 3rd place teams that didn’t advance were the teams that did not get hydration breaks and tactical coaching at those points. FIFA leaves the door open to unfair advantage complaints by those countries. So to avoid it they just require in all games.

@nimishdubey Why were they denied visas? Can you prove every case was unjustified? I’ll give you Iran. But name another team. English is the most taught language in the world. Also being primarily held in English speaking country and spoken in 1/2 other host. FIFA put hydration break.

@_marc_clark_ @yorkshireboy14 @lufcgrace If they’re gonna allow for coaches to speak with players it creates an unfair advantage to teams in games that wouldn’t get a hydration break because you don’t just compete against your group now when 8/12 3rd place teams also advance.

@Sudsanity It’s the commercials. There has been hydration breaks before in matches, including this years Champions League Final, and while not ideal, it’s whatever. But never have networks left the game for a full commercial break.

To everyone griping about the hydration breaks during the #WorldCup… do you whine and complain as much when a player is injured for more than 90 seconds and everyone on the pitch gets a breather? …I didn’t think so

There’s a fundamental disconnect in most of the arguments against this. American football comes to a dead stop. Soccer is, obviously, always moving. The play might start at a certain moment, but it’s fluid - there is no defined GO. (Other than set pieces, of course)

There are few dumber things in sports than offsides in soccer Get back on D, son (Seriously, imagine if a receiver couldn't run past a DB in football on a deep ball, or you couldn't get out on a fast break in hoops)

@Talhaa10_ @MCIphilly If there’s a complaint it’s America’s fault. It rained in Canada but we all forgot it’s a 3 country host and FIFA made the rules. Did American broadcast take advantage of the rule. Yes. But it’s FIFA’s rules.

@MCIphilly standardisation explains why they did it in every game, not why they decided every game needed one in the first place. if the justification is heat, then doing it in the rain makes no sense

Drove to work this morning and didn’t see a single England flag on a car, hanging outside someone’s house, or in a window. Go back 10, 15, 20 years and you’d see entire streets covered in them. I used to love the build up to a major tournament. Maybe it’s nostalgia talking, but it feels different now. I just find it sad. I’m the only person on my street with an England flag up, and I’m genuinely contemplating taking it down because I don’t want to be labelled as something I’m not.

@Kashif23_ Cities in the U.S. began bidding to be among the 10 host cities (now 11 because Montreal later fell out) in 2017. Long before Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was built. FIFA began narrowing the list in 2018 and at that time Vegas was a little behind.
