A monk in Ratchaburi weighing 260 kilograms has appealed for medical help, fearing he could become bedridden if his condition worsens. The 34-year-old struggles to walk more than short distances and has already lost vision in one eye due to obesity-related health complications. He hopes to undergo weight-loss surgery after years of battling severe obesity, high blood pressure and other health problems. Health officials are now working with the temple and local community to help improve his diet and explore treatment options.

Phuket plans boat taxi network to cut airport travel time The government plans to develop a boat taxi network in Phuket to reduce traffic congestion and provide faster transport between tourist areas and Phuket International Airport. Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana said the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is preparing to build piers and a water transport system using funds from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation. The government said travel between Patong and the airport could take about 30 minutes by boat, compared with more than two hours by road during heavy traffic. The project is part of the government's "Phuket Model", which also includes efforts to reclaim state land, revoke illegally issued land titles and restore areas within Sirinat National Park. Authorities are pursuing about 20 state land encroachment cases in the area. The government said the model could later be expanded to other tourist provinces, including Phang Nga and Krabi. I still am struggling to wrap my head around the fact this is actually happening… Don’t care what your political views are, EVERYONE should be absolutely embarrassed & ashamed that this is happening at the Lincoln Memorial & White House. What a joke.

TRUMP ON TRUTH SOCIAL: THE TERMS THAT IRAN LEAKED OUT TO THE FAKE NEWS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TERMS THAT WERE AGREED TO, IN WRITING. WHAT THEY SAID, INCLUDING THEIR WEAK AND PATHETIC STATEMENT ON HAVING A DEAL, BEARS NO RELATION TO THE TRUTH. VERY DISHONORABLE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH. WITH THEM, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS DEALING IN GOOD FAITH. AMAZING! ALSO, THEIR TOTALLY REBUFFED DRONE ATTACK LAST NIGHT AGAINST INDIAN SHIPS LEAVING THE HORMUZ STRAIT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THEY BETTER GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER, AND FAST! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

Thailand is seeing rapid growth in artificial intelligence adoption, but overall usage among Thai people remains relatively low compared with global levels, according to a new report. Data shows Thailand has one of the fastest growth rates in AI adoption, yet only a small share of the population actively uses the technology. Thai authorities and companies are now working to expand access and improve digital skills as Thailand aims to strengthen its position in the global digital economy. Don Mueang Airport in Thailand is showing clear signs of ageing, with worn flooring and maintenance concerns becoming more visible to travellers. While the Thai airport remains a busy hub for low cost airlines and handles large numbers of passengers daily, past incidents and reports of uneven surfaces highlight ongoing infrastructure challenges. Despite ambitious expansion plans across Thailand, the current condition of facilities at this long serving Bangkok airport continues to draw attention from visitors and expatriates. Bolt Driver Charged After Assaulting Japanese Tourist in Bangkok A Bolt driver has been charged with assault and violations of Thailand's Land Transport Act after attacking a Japanese tourist following a dispute over a fare and traffic conditions, police said. The incident occurred after the tourist booked a ride through the Bolt platform from Ratchaprarop to Sukhumvit. According to investigators, the driver asked the passenger to leave the vehicle before reaching the destination, citing a low fare and heavy traffic. The passenger refused, leading to an argument inside the car. Police said the tourist admitted to swearing at the driver and kicking the driver's seat, while the suspect said the confrontation caused him to lose control before following the passenger out of the vehicle and assaulting him. The driver has confessed to all charges, expressed remorse and sought to apologise and reach a settlement. However, the victim declined mediation and said he wanted the case prosecuted to the fullest extent because he remained fearful following the attack. Investigators also found the suspect was using a vehicle not licensed for public transport and did not hold a public driver's licence. The case is scheduled to be forwarded to court on June 4. Authorities said the driver had completed more than 2,000 trips through the platform and had previously received several passenger complaints and one-star reviews. The vehicle involved in the incident is registered to the suspect's father, while the Bolt account used to accept jobs belongs to the suspect. #Thailand #Bangkok #Japan
