That's one large area of high pressure extended from eastern Europe, most of Asia, and even down into Alaska/W US! Cold air? Plenty of it over Asia, which some will spill into the CONUS by late January.

27 degrees tonight will test no ryegrass. Blankets so far are working. Soil temps in the 50s while air temp under blankets can get into the 80s with the sun.
