Lost about 300 followers since announcing my conversion to Catholicism. Doubtful it’s coincidental, but it is quite fascinating. I have a feeling those 300 people are unhappy with their life.

@a10205342 As a fellow Catholic, I find it can be difficult to discuss matters of faith with Protestants. They get hung up on things like the Blessed Mother, saying we “worship statues”, even on the divinity of Christ. And of course many accuse Catholics of not even being Christian.

@ManifestHistory Which version? Catholic or Protestant? We Catholics have a few extra books in our Bible. (The Jerusalem Bible is the best Catholic version, in my opinion. It was based on a popular French translation, and J.R.R. Tolkien was one of the editors.)

I’ve finally decided to read the entire bible. So far, I’ve read Genesis and Exodus. I’m obviously really interested in reading the Gospels and New Testament. I’m debating skipping ahead to the Gospels. What do you recommend I do: Read the bible from front to back or skip ahead and read the Gospels (or entire New Testament) and then go back to the Old Testament.

@esjesjesj It's not murder. By definition, murder requires the dead party to be innocent. He killed in self defense, this is on record. And Pretti was not unarmed, he had a gun on him and was shot literally as he got disarmed. Not good, but be honest about it.

Not everyone has them, but anyone COULD have them. That’s part of the reason no other country wants to invade us. Anywhere else, they’d only have to deal with armed military and possibly armed law enforcement. In the U.S., a random mom pushing a stroller down the street might be carrying.
