@KindlyLoudly Couldn’t agree more. I’ve been through breast cancer twice and hate it when people say how brave I was. I wasn’t brave. I was scared. It’s nothing to do with bravery - in that situation we don’t have a choice

To say someone lost their battle with cancer implies their actions or attitude impacted the outcome. They don’t. Drugs do the battling, not patients; & sometimes the drugs don’t work. Why can’t we just say that they died from cancer, after enduring x months/years of treatment?

@makeupmonster_ I always say we have 3 boys despite losing our beautiful Jake in 2012. I would feel terrible denying he was ever here we will always be a family of 5 & carry Jake forever in our hearts 💔

We feel this a lot especially now with a new baby. We have two kids. Always. But as soon as you say it you’re bracing yourself for a follow up question that will mean you need to face a conversation you may not be up to having.
