@TopherStoll@austinNotQuite@MentisWave The true decision is understanding that people will die and more than half of the people on the planet will act selfishly, so I shouldn't throw my life away like a retard.
Red voters need to convince themselves that anyone who chooses blue is subhuman and deserves to die.
Blue voters need to convince themselves that anyone who chooses blue is an innocent child who is completely ignorant of the stakes and needs rescuing.
But they are both projecting and self-justifying , the real question is are you willing to accept a personal risk to protect as many human lives as possible.
You obviously aren’t.
@SnowAndSteady@MentisWave You changed the premise by automatically having someone already having pushed the blue button, which technically isn't the case
Nor would you have the ability to be made aware of other people's choices, and instead relying entirely on vibes (bad idea in a life or death situation)
@MentisWave Ill reframe it under our perspective.
You and 5 friends run into a lion. It pins down and is about to eat one of your friends. You know for a fact if 3 of you charge the lion itll run away. But if its not at least 3 it eats all of you What do you do?
@Gelvetication@Gargrug@randomacc1721@MentisWave I understand why the blues talk so much about it. But why do the reds like to talk about this dilemma? Wouldn't it make more sense to just be a secret red?
@Zachariahskylab@Gargrug@randomacc1721@MentisWave The children aren't saved. You die in vain, and you could have persisted in a world and created new/good things in spite of the apocalyptic event.
@Gelvetication@Gargrug@randomacc1721@MentisWave I will definitely vote blue if there are children involved. I am okay with dying. It's not that scary. Dying to save children is one of the most blessed ways to go.
@Zachariahskylab@Gargrug@randomacc1721@MentisWave For empirical evidence, you would need to put everyone in this exact situation to account for the actual threat of death, and not a twiter poll
Blue is guaranteed to lose because people will not trust 4+ billion people to save them, anything else and you're just kidding yourself
@Zachariahskylab@Gargrug@randomacc1721@MentisWave There's a difference between thinking of the children now vs looking down the barrel of a loaded gun next to a kid hoping the shooter will change his mind.
Your instincts would not let you, as much as you try to deny it now. You aren't a hero.
@Gelvetication@Gargrug@randomacc1721@MentisWave It's not certain death. Most people are good and will think of the children. And even the people who are not good tend to be dumb.
I vote to save the children. If I die trying to save the children then I can accept that. There are worse ways to die.
@Gelvetication@GrapefruitPine1@MentisWave 100% of planet Earth have parents or children.
Third worlders are the one who will vote blue, because family is the only thing they have to survive. You will not outvote them.
