Some thoughts on the proposed cap on food pricing: In passing any legislation the Scottish Parliament has to act in the powers conferred by the Scotland Act 1998. This sets out what Holyrood can and cannot do. Any legislation which goes beyond those powers can be struck down by

Personally, I think that’s unlikely. They’re the GERS figures, so I’d expect them to be reliable. However, I’ll look at them in more detail.

Insane this....Aberdeen is the oil capital of Europe. London has none.
Scotland cannot borrow but has a deficit of 11.6% (GERS). Romania has the worst deficit in Europe at 9.3%. That stat alone should be a wake up call to anyone who thinks the union is Scotland's best choice.

You suggest the figure is wrong or misleading. Which funds not spent in Scotland are being added to that figure?

The disgraceful 11.6% deficit is created by unrestrained, indiscriminate & undefined expenditure apportioning to the UK element ie, funds not spent in Scotland, by WM

A 32% constituency vote share makes the SNP highly vulnerable to tactical pro-UK voting. Ignore polls, follow the tactical voting guide and the SNP will be gone.

In Scotland public spending actually exceeds all revenue raised anyway.

@Erudite4Unity @ReformUKScot Interesting. I can see that with Reform as they’re controversial. However, despite its limitations, personal experience is leaving me on the fence. Hearing quite a bit of support for Reform in my constituency and not a lot of enthusiasm for the tories.

@Ghvccd2 I constructed the guide in exactly the same way as Scotland In Union, whose guide also shows @ReformUKScot winning no constituencies. There are many factors to consider, particularly propensity to attract votes from supporters of other parties. That's where Reform falls short.

Also, although their core value is a move away from fossil fuels, they are aware that the middle east crisis has emphasised the need for energy security

It was a simple choice a few weeks ago: show where you stand. Are you for the jobs and the industry or not? No playing politics and demanding powers. Take a position. That’s what people will look at.

A reminder: neither the SNP nor any other party can win a mandate to force any other party to deliver its manifesto commitments. The only thing an SNP majority at Holyrood would deliver would be John Swinney's right to request a second referendum. It would place no obligation on the UK government to agree.

We should be doing everything we can to shift our energy towards renewable sources to tackle climate change and get away from the volatility of fossil fuels. But that won’t happen overnight. So while fossil fuels are consumed in the UK, they should be produced here too

You are aware that up until recently events in the middle east, there has been a shift away from fossil fuels towards greener renewable energy?
