Today we’re announcing that Respan has raised a $5M seed round led by @GradientVC.
We’re building the self-driving observability, evals, and gateway for AI agents.
100+ teams already use Respan.
1B+ logs/month.

“From 2017 to 2021, we saw 100 companies a year that fit our thesis,” said Gradient's Darian Shirazi. “And post-ChatGPT, we started to see 1,500 to 2,000, which is now consistently the number of companies we see per year.” bit.ly/4dlXJvm

The next generation of AI companies will be quieter. More technical. More opinionated. More consequential. That's exactly what we're looking for.

Today, I'm announcing BackOps' $26M Series A led by @Theoryvc, alongside @constructcap, @GradientVC, and 10vc.
Over the last year and a half, we have worked with some of the world's leading manufacturers, grocers, distributors, and logistics platforms. What we've seen has only deepened our conviction.
The back offices that power global supply chains are held together by people manually chasing exceptions, filing claims, reconciling data across disconnected systems, and solving the same problems over and over again. These teams are incredible operators. But they're drowning in work that's beneath their expertise, spending their days on it because there was never an alternative. Until now.
Something we found most interesting is that the knowledge of how to actually do this work lives inside people's heads. It's not well documented. Many of these processes haven't been meaningfully changed in years, not because they work well, but because no one has been able to see them clearly enough to improve them. The expertise is real, but it's trapped. Impossible to replicate, hard to scale, and invisible to analysis.
We built BackOps to change that. We've made it easier than ever to capture how your best operators actually work, then turn it into AI-driven processes that execute on their own. And for the first time, your team can actually see these processes, work together to improve them, and continuously streamline operations that used to be invisible.
The results have spoken for themselves. Processes that used to take days are resolved in minutes, with better accuracy than manual workflows. We're not replacing teams, we're giving them leverage they've never had before, and for the first time, visibility into operations that were previously a black box.
This raise lets us do more of what's already working. Our customers are seeing what happens when operational knowledge isn't trapped anymore. We're just scratching the surface of what's possible when you treat back-office operations as an AI problem, not a people problem.
To our customers, investors, and every person on the BackOps team, thank you. This is just the beginning.
We're hiring. If you want to work on problems that truly matter, come build with us.
Thank you to @axios and Natalie Breymeyer for covering our story. Link in the comments below.

Big news! WRITER is featured in @Inc, out on newsstands today! 🗞️
Earlier this year Ellen McGirt spent time with our team digging into the story behind WRITER and the category-defining vision for enterprise AI that our co-founders @may_habib and @waseem_s have been driving for the last five years.
While the industry races to ship one-size-fits-all AI tools, we’ve taken a fundamentally different approach: building trusted frontier AI systems for the high-stakes reality of the world’s largest enterprises.
As Ellen writes, "WRITER has evolved to establish a beachhead in agentic AI—autonomous agents that can handle complex business processes even in highly regulated industries—and has been on a tear ever since. Its agents function like human knowledge workers, automating work across silos and functions... [helping it] quickly build the gold standard for enterprise AI and a client list that's the envy of Silicon Valley."
Huge thanks to @Inc team for capturing the "why" behind WRITER and our employees, customers, investors, and partners who are building a wildly more ambitious future of work with us.

No more vibecoded look & feel.
The high quality design iteration with coding agents is: pick a style ➡️ explore design variations ➡️ craft components.
The smoothest tool sets I've found is @SubframeApp (variations, AI/drag & drop editing) + @claudeai code!
Just 10mins → custom & good looking todo list app:

Today we’re launching Design Canvas for AI agents.
AI can build a feature, but every "design tweak" turns into another prompt.
We built a drag & drop editor for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex to explore and iterate on your UI, so you get the best design by default.
No endless prompting. Ship better designs in code with Subframe.
