@daltine_cracker @BeaneaterB Acuña potentially getting ejected in the middle of a single elimination game is way worse than Schwarber getting tossed after his last at bat in the ninth inning of a regular season game

This is completely overblown. Ronnie literally never argues with umpires. Like, never. But this is the WBC. He was upset because of the situation and the game. You’ll notice Miggy was pretty pissed about it too. Are we going to make a big deal about the 42 year old coach barking at the ump as well? Just a complete non-story. Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber have had way bigger issues with these things in regular season baseball games, but hey, they’re white so let’s pick on the Venezuelan dude getting upset while playing on the biggest international stage for his country.

@KingBika1 @thewookieewon @mattyglesias Jewish institutions are absolutely being attacked at rates higher than those of most other religions. There’s a reason that the synagogue in West Bloomfield has armed security

@thewookieewon @mattyglesias I mean you're kind of proving his point right? If you look at the reality, Jewish children are not being murdered at rates higher than other types of children. You may perceive this to be the case but in reality it is not true

In technical discussions, the truth usually sits somewhere in the middle. We all have opinions, and that's fine. What matters is being intellectually honest: present your facts, respect the other side, and let people read and decide for themselves. No one ever changed their mind because someone shouted louder. Every professional discussion deserves this kind of balance and mutual respect. Honestly, though, some things are just not up for debate. 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 is 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 with 𝟒 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬, not tabs. Not three, not two. Four spaces. Period.

The great ⁦@JonathanMayo⁩ gives us the new Braves Top 30 prospects list. The top 12 are as strong as I’ve seen in the system in recent memory. Even if Ritchie graduates this year, I think the Braves could have 4-5 of MLB’s top 100 prospects next year mlb.com/news/braves-to…

@mike_petriello Sure. I guess I’m saying that if you have 10-11 years of success, does the age really matter? In his case, having these outstanding years fall while he was young allowed him to play longer (and I think voters would be more forging of bad years from 35-39 versus 31-35)

@ItsAMaysin maybe. Could also mean his peak was just half as short and he still fell off at 30, if he came up at 24.

@mike_petriello Really good explanations. The one explanation I quibble with is Andruw Jones — yes, he fell of a cliff at 30, but he also debuted at 19. If his career was from 24-35, I think people would look at him in a much more positive light.

Here's a (much) longer explanation of the thought process. Not sure if it's right. Pretty sure there isn't just one 'right' though. --> mlb.com/news/mike-petr…

Ohio State and Oregon gave up a total of 25 sacks this year combined. Of the 25 sacks, 11 came against Indiana. That’s 44% for the math folks out there. Indiana was responsible for 5/11 Ohio State sacks allowed and 6/14 Oregon sacks allowed. Just ridiculous. #iufb

@BwcDeals @Brett_McMurphy Yes, because once Duke won, it was either going to be Duke or JMU. This had zero impact on Miami, Alabama, and Notre Dame

ACC commish Jim Phillips: “The University of Notre Dame is an incredibly valued member of the ACC and there is tremendous respect and appreciation for the entire institution. With that said, when it comes to football, we have a responsibility to support and advocate for all 17 of our football-playing member institutions, and I stand behind our conference efforts to do just that leading up to the College Football Playoff Committee selections on Sunday. At no time was it suggested by the ACC that Notre Dame was not a worthy candidate for inclusion in the field. We are thrilled for the University of Miami while also understanding and appreciating the significant disappointment of the Notre Dame players, coaches and program.”

All jokes aside: if you leave a conf championship game runner up out of the CFP after they already beat the team they played in the conf championship game to put a team who sat at home into the CFP just go ahead & do away with conf championship games.

Look @PabloTorre is a coward on this issue. There are two options here: 1. He agrees with me and Riley that men shouldn’t be allowed to compete in women’s sports but is afraid to say it because left wingers will be mad at him on here or 2. He thinks men should be able to compete in women’s sports, but is too much of a coward to say it because deep down he actually knows it’s absurd and ridiculous and impossible for a sane sports reporter to argue and so he claims he’s just a “journalist” investigating Riley Gaines when really he’s a political activist executing a hit job. But either way he’s a coward because he’s doing everything possible to avoid answering a very basic question.
