@james_malloy_28 @NovusOrdoWatch If you still believe that the real issues in the Church relate to the language usedb at Mass and not the underlying problems with the formulation of the Novus Ordo Missae itself, then I'd advise you to do further reading. The ambiguity in Vatican II was deliberate.

@JimmytheHunj @NovusOrdoWatch My opinions: (1) The documents of Vatican II should have been more precise in their wording. (2) The big mistake in the aftermath of Vatican II (I lived through it) was the Pope and hierarchy should have offered BOTH Masses in every parish church in Latin and the vernacular.

@iam_shwa @WhiteRosePapist Nice strawman. What's next, "Don't you believe in priests being happy?" Since I'm not Novus Ordo, our priest firstly makes a thanksgiving after Mass, then greets people afterwards (in his cassock), having already removed his vestments prior.

@iam_shwa @WhiteRosePapist If you think religion is all about subjective feeling & levity and that the bishop is there simply as a man of the people, then certainly. A prelate goes to the sacristy after Mass to unvest, so unless this "mass" took place in a field, that's nonsense.

@iam_shwa @WhiteRosePapist That's a real stretch in the application of the precept our Lord was teaching. Nobody was criticising the "bishop" for playing football, but rather for doing so in vestments intended for the sanctuary. He could have quite easily removed them. To state this isn't Pharisaical.

@iam_shwa @WhiteRosePapist Because they played...football ?? Or because Christ sakd to suffer the little ones to come to him ? Can you elaborate ?

@JimmytheHunj @Patriotforheavn @BVMConsolatrix So, do you have anything positive to say about the interview or was this just an opportunity to drudge up the "cult-origin"? Despite the fact that Bishop Pivarunas has gone above and beyond to rid the CMRI of Shuckhart's legacy and to never be cult-like again.

People don't realize: CMRI didn't originate from the Church. None of the original members had any formal formation or training. They get their "credibility" by simply being "sedevacantist". Then they go disparaging other traditionalists.
Fr. Gabriel Lavery@FrLavery

@BVMConsolatrix Further evidence that you are non compos mentis. You might have to Google that because Latin probably didn't come up in your training(?) anymore than the theology of tacit will and jurisdiction.

Just arrived at Mary Immaculate Queen Church in Omaha where we will have two new priests and two deacons ordained tomorrow morning from Mater Dei Seminary. They will not be "sacrament machines." They will be pastors of souls, truly caring for souls with whatever mission and jurisdiction is necessary granted from Christ by the tacit will of the Popes as willed by Christ. Lest souls should perish! So many memories here. I was ordained here almost 23 years ago. O bone Jesu, fac ut sint sacerdotes secundum Cor tuum!

@james_malloy_28 @NovusOrdoWatch That really is not a good argument, my friend. Firstly, externals may change, indeed: That's accidental change, but doctrine cannot: that would be a substantial change. Truth like God is immutbale. And yes, one could easily reverse it all.

@NovusOrdoWatch I attend TLM every Sunday, and I believe the this Mass should be offered as an option at every parish church. However, we cannot turn back the clock. Things change over time. The first Mass - instituted by the Lord Jesus in the Upper Room - was nothing like the TLM.

@wcmclaa @StLuke_1_28 @NovusOrdoWatch The See of Canterbury hasn't been legally occupied since the death of Reginald Cardinal Pole. Dame Ramsey's position is a usurpation of and an insult to it. This was an ecumenical meeting aimed at-as ever-dialogue and prayer.

Canterbury Sally had a pleasant time!
Archbishop of Canterbury@ArchbishopSarah

It was an honour to meet and pray with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV @Pontifex this morning. I’m deeply grateful for his gracious welcome at the Apostolic Palace. In the years to come, I will remain united with the Pope in prayer – for peace in our world, for justice, and for every person to discover the fullness of life that God offers. The ecumenical pilgrimage is always one we make together, as a fellowship of Christians seeking the unity for which Christ prayed. Your Holiness, as your sister in Christ, in a spirit of prayer, friendship, and hope, I commend our shared journey into the hands of God. You can read my address to Pope Leo XIV here: archbishopofcanterbury.org/news/archbisho…

@wcmclaa @StLuke_1_28 @NovusOrdoWatch How is it reasoning to look at the actions and subsequrnt statements issued by both the CoE and the Vatican and arrive at the conclusion that Leo was simply honouring the "Office", she clearly does not hold ? This is spin, not reasoning.

@Patriotforheavn @BVMConsolatrix My comment related to Schukart, and his influence upon her manner of thinking, which on this point is, at the very least, strange. I did not intened to insult well-meaning Catholic religious.

@JimmytheHunj @BVMConsolatrix They received approval from their Bishop at the time, so it seems your use of the term “cult origin” is a pejorative one directed at the sisters. Give it a rest

@Patriotforheavn @BVMConsolatrix Again, I didn't criticise the Sister's piety. I was pointing out that the cult-origin of the CMRI clearly left a mark. Even if expressed as a merely private opinion, it doesn't serve to exonerate the exponent of said opinion of error.

@JimmytheHunj @BVMConsolatrix She was simply expressing an opinion ; the fact the CMRI sisters have stayed Catholic , and never followed the false modernist sect , is inspiring. Allow yourself to be inspired by dear souls consecrated to Jesus Christ , and have been praying for you faithfully.

@StLuke_1_28 @NovusOrdoWatch x.com/i/status/20487… Then there's this one. Top marks for mental gymnastics. He wasn't worshipping in that mosque; he was admiring the architecture.
William C. Michael@wcmclaa

@EWTNVatican She holds what was once a Catholic bishopric. Pope Leo is honoring that ancient Catholic office, not the doctrine of the modern Anglican Church. In fact, he is exposing the shameful decline of it and falsehood of the Reformation (cf Acts 5).

@NovusOrdoWatch "Pope Leo was just being polite." "Trads think the pope can't smile at people." "It's normal for the pope to meet a public figure." "If I'm somewhere and I pray and a Protestant is nearby, so what?" "Trads think that peace in our world is bad."

@wcmclaa @MoresJustus @EWTNVatican I'm sorry, did he or did he not invite her there ? This is obfuscation at it's finest. Before Vatican II, did Pontiffs meed to invite heretical leaders to St. Peters to shake hands ?

Pope Leo XIV held his first meeting with Dame Sarah Mullally, the new Archbishop of Canterbury and the first woman to lead the Church of England and the Anglican Communion. During their audience at the Vatican, the Pope encouraged Catholics and Anglicans to continue the path of dialogue and unity, acknowledging that new challenges have made full communion more difficult. He warned that it would be a “scandal” not only to fail in the common mission of making Christ known, but also to stop working to overcome divisions, “no matter how intractable they may appear.”

@FrLavery @engl1shtradcat @TheWMReview That's nothing other than the "tu quoque" fallacy in jocular wrapping paper. Do you think it's acceptable to label the Thesis heresy, and any form of Totalism opposed to an IGC, schismatic ?

@Patriotforheavn @BVMConsolatrix In all fairness, Sister did express some heterodox ideas in that interview (her sincerity and clear goodwill aside), namely that Our Lady chose Schukhart but then transferred her patronage when he became unworthy, and did the same for Fr. Chicoine etc.

This is not true . Sister Mary Bernadette of the CMRI was there from the beginning , and Father Navarro would do well to be more informed before he talks about the CMRI, which is a religious congregation, just like many others , that has made it through many trials and tribulations. It is a thriving Catholic congregation, that is ordaining more priests this week as a matter of fact.

@austinemarie777 @ComesDeSerenno @FrLavery Even in that sense, the analogy fails, as it was not owing to calls for an imperfect, general council that a reconciliation between certain groups took place. Unless, Fr. Lavery is only making reference to apparent recent agreement online.

@ComesDeSerenno @FrLavery In humility, please see through the analogy to the point being made. In analogies, not everything applies. And you know very well Fr Lavery is not referring to the betrayal of Pilate, but the coincidental alliance between Pilate and Herod, prior adversaries.

Those who don't accept the Thesis, yet have been so agitated against the idea of an imperfect general council electing the next true Pope, need not waste their time arguing against IGC. They only need to tell us what the correct solution is and give the proof for it. Then everyone will be on board. Do you just presume everyone is in bad faith and wouldn't agree with you if you had a defensible solution? Instead, you are like someone who writes a book about how to find the true Faith, but you don't say a single word about the Catholic Church. Instead, you spend 500 pages describing what's wrong with every *other* religion in the world. The reader is left still completely in the dark as to where to find the *true* one. Think on it. 🤔 Right now the Thesis clergy and the anti-solutionists are like Herod and Pilot who "were made friends, that same day; for before they were enemies one to another" (Lk 23, 12).
