I’m trying to understand the tariff refund thing. Companies raised their prices to consumers in light of the tariff charges. But now those tariffs are getting refunded. So those companies will just have wound up making way more money on the backs of everyday people.

Lemme get this straight… I bought things from overseas. I had to pay tariffs directly to companies like DHL before my items were delivered. And they get the refund, not me? Ridiculous.

Friends- I need help. I keep getting TV/podcast invites from creators/channels that lean right, or are clearly on the right. I have NO issues with that- I’ll talk to anyone. But I NEED some left wing creators/channels to chat with for balance before I accept more. HELP!!!

@MorePerfectUS You paid the extra amount because it was offset to the consumer, as it usually is, trickle down. Then when they are refunding it, they are giving it right back to the company. Consumer? No...you bought and paid, but that extra money, company gets to keep it.

On Monday the Trump admin will launch the tariff refund system for the $166 billion in tariffs they illegally collected. And all of that money will go to companies. 56,497 ​importers are set to get refunds so far, with no requirement they pass that money along to customers.
