Value your time much more than your money

Prefer learning the basics/fundamentals over memorizing coding/tech solutions. It will help to create NEW solutions to old problems, or adapt old solutions to new problems, which is a big part of what coding is about.

The total number of days I’ve been told I would lose my software engineering job to AI.

Realizing that I’m never going to have that satisfying feeling of coding something valuable from scratch again.

If I can’t figure a coding challenge out in 15/30/45 minutes for an easy/medium/hard question respectively, then I’m looking up the answer, and trying again. To me, it’s not enough return on investment for me to stay stuck on 1 problem longer than those ranges.

@munene254_ Nice! For me social media helped pull in clients but it took a while to build up authority. Friends and family produced a lot of word of mouth referrals early on.

@KGcodes I'm actually seeking clients to work with. Any ideas on how to get started with this. I'm good in React and learning node at this time.

Software engineers / web devs: if you freelance don’t let your clients turn you into free “tech support”

@oldewhittington lol right, I’m mean I get it if you’re multi tasking on 2-3 separate things but there comes a point where there’s diminishing returns with too many agents. Seems like they are still only actively working with 2-3 and the other 18 are sitting dormant waiting for input.

@KGcodes Honestly if they’re able to have 2 agents work on the same handful of repos & somehow stick to API contracts & get things working that’s more impressive than the massive agent management 😂

What are yall using all these separate AI terminals/agents for? A bunch of people are saying they’re running 5, 10, or 20 Claude/Codex/Gemini agents, but never what exactly they are doing in them at the same exact time.

At work, a non-technical person asked me a deep technical question. I'm familiar with the topic, so I gave them a deep technical answer from memory. They then go straight to ChatGPT and ask it, right in front of my face (I guess not fully believing me). ChatGPT gave the same
