@elonmusk I've already lost my livelihood to AI. At 60, I doubt I'll live long enough to see this UHI you describe. I guess I'll be offered medically assisted suicide so I won't be a societal burden until they decide to start paying people to breathe.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@lichthauch Your posts make me feel like either my experiences, inclinations, and perspectives aren’t as uncommon as I believe, or if I’m truly in alignment with a way of living that sounds more profound and correct than it feels living it. I don’t know if that makes sense, but thank you.

The long road is not punishment, its a gift. and if you cant see that yet, its because you are still the same whiny creature who prayed for God to teleport you out of egypt. God said no, i am going to make you walk. and you cry about it like its some injustice. it is not. the desert is not your enemy, you are your enemy. you want to arrive at canaan as the same person who ate the bread of slavery. you want to be free and also not change. pick one. that is not how this works. God is not going to drag your bitter half formed soul into a promised land, it would spoil the milk and spoil the honey, and you would wreck it within a year because you are not ready. so he walks you until the readiness is not something you aspire to, it is something you are forged into. the sand in your teeth is teaching you. the thirst is teaching you. the rations are building someone who can receive a promise without choking on it. stop asking od to rescue you from the only process that will actually save you. blessed are those who walk it without cursing the sand, for every grain grinds a slave into a son
🕊️@lichthauch

Between egypt your exile, and canaan where you belong, lies the desert (you have to walk it)

Tennis players live 9.7 years longer than sedentary people. Not 9.7 months. 9.7 years. Nearly a decade. The Copenhagen City Heart Study tracked 8,577 people for 25 years and ranked every sport by how much life it adds. Badminton: 6.2 years. Soccer: 4.7. Cycling: 3.7. Swimming: 3.4. Jogging: 3.2. Tennis almost triples jogging. A separate study of 80,000 adults found racket sports cut all-cause mortality by 47% and cardiovascular death by 56%. Swimming hit 41%. Aerobics hit 36%. The question is why racket sports destroy everything else. Three mechanisms stack on top of each other. First, the physical demands. A tennis rally requires explosive sprints, lateral cuts, and sustained aerobic output. You're training fast-twitch and slow-twitch muscle fibers simultaneously. Most cardio only trains one system. Second, the cognitive load. You're reading spin, predicting angles, adjusting position, and executing motor patterns in real-time. Your brain is solving spatial puzzles at 80+ mph. That hand-eye coordination and strategic processing builds neural connections that protect against cognitive decline. Third, and this is the one researchers keep coming back to: you literally cannot play alone. Every racket sport requires another person on the other side of the net. That forced social interaction triggers neurochemical benefits that solitary exercise cannot replicate. Strong social connection alone increases your chance of longevity by 50%. Jogging is you and your thoughts. Tennis is you, a strategic opponent, and a community. Dr. Daniel Amen is right. The data is overwhelming. If you want the single highest-ROI activity for a longer life, pick up a racket.

Find your obsession. Choose something worth dying for. Ignore everything else. Become monomaniacal. Sleep when you're dead. Eat when you must. Think about it constantly. Dream about it nightly. Wake up thinking about it. Sacrifice relationships for it. Lose friends over it. Let people call you crazy. Let them call you unbalanced. Good. Balance is for the weak. Mediocrity is for the many. Greatness demands sacrifice. Obsession is the price. Pay it gladly. Ignore the voices telling you to be reasonable. Reasonable men change nothing. Obsessed men change everything. Van Gogh was obsessed. Da Vinci was obsessed. They called them mad. History calls them genius. Find what makes you forget to eat. Pursue it relentlessly. Let it hollow you out. Let it fill you back up. Become the thing you chase. Merge with your mission. Disappear into your work. Emerge transformed. Or don't emerge at all. Better to burn out obsessed than fade away balanced. The world needs your madness. Give it everything

help me please Something has been targeting me since January. I'm dealing with EMF and actually seeing things on my inside of my eyelids, it's interfering with sleep. I've never had mental health issues. Where I am, paranoid or schizophrenic or anything like that? But this is definitely odd, and I have obtained emf shielding from my brain with a hat. I've got a blanket, and those help those kind of make the images greyer, but they're changing up the storyline for a long time.It was the same thing.Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.I just need to ask somebody for help. That understands this is real, and that's why i'm reaching out to you, alex thank you MaryAnne in Canada

If you've never had a kid it's almost impossible to understand this, but there is nothing you can offer me that's better than pushing my three year old daughter in a swing at the park just before lunchtime and then swinging through the McDonalds drive thru to grab a Happy Meal and then stopping at the gas station to get a slurpee and some M&Ms, because why not, and pretending to race the other cars on the way home just to make her laugh and all the while she's asking questions about everything she sees and I'm smiling to myself because it's forcing me to come to terms with the fact I don't know how to explain even the most basic fundamentals of life. And I like that. I like feeling like the world still contains infinitudes as of yet unknown to me. I used to think it was cope when parents talked about this, because I was stupid and I wanted to enjoy my parties and my drugs and my affairs and my long nights out and my wine and my time to myself and my melodramatic crying fits and my hallucinations and my self-destructive spirals and the fact I had nobody to answer to. The happiness you get from raising a child is not the cheap dopamine hit of an easy pleasure, bought and paid for. It's the kind of happiness that you only get from choosing to undertake an adventure, and the colossal responsibility that comes with it, so that in moments stripped away, inch by inch, the new world you decided to brave and explore is revealed to you.

A 97-year-old woman with advanced Alzheimer's was given a microdose of LSD. She had been diagnosed 11 years earlier. By 97, she was in a near-vegetative state. Despair & hopelessness had set in, and she was basically unable to communicate. Her caregiver, with the family's agreement, tried a microdose of LSD to see if it could bring her back. According to her family and the Beckley Foundation, she regained full awareness. She could talk, read, and relate to people around her. Her wit, personality, and sense of self all returned. Her daughter later said the only wish was that they had started many years earlier. That case is what led Amanda Feilding and the Beckley Foundation to launch the world's first controlled clinical trial of microdosed LSD for Alzheimer's, with the University of Basel. And the science is starting to explain why it may have worked. LSD at sub-intoxicating doses has been shown to increase Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), one of the most important proteins in the brain. BDNF drives neuroplasticity, supports neuronal survival and growth, and is central to learning and memory. In Alzheimer's patients, BDNF levels are significantly depleted. The Beckley/Maastricht research program found that microdoses of LSD (5, 10, and 20 micrograms) increased BDNF plasma levels in healthy volunteers in a dose-dependent manner. No altered state, just a measurable increase in one of the brain's most critical growth factors. Animal research has shown that low-dose psychedelics promote neurogenesis and increase dendritic spine density in the hippocampus, the brain region most damaged by Alzheimer's. A 2023 Nature Neuroscience paper found that psychedelics promote plasticity by directly binding to the BDNF receptor TrkB, a mechanism that may work independently of the psychedelic experience itself. A randomized controlled trial out of New Zealand gave 80 healthy men 10 microgram doses of LSD every third day for six weeks and measured changes in neural plasticity via EEG. The results showed modulation of long-term potentiation, a key marker of the brain's ability to strengthen connections over time. All of the above points in the same direction: LSD at low doses appears to support the biological infrastructure of a healthy, adaptive brain. Call it what you want - neuroplasticity, neurotrophic signaling, synaptic growth - these are all processes that degrade with age and collapse in neurodegenerative disease. Albert Hofmann microdosed LSD for decades. He was giving two-hour lectures at 100. He died at 102 with his mind intact. That's not proof on its own, but it's a data point that gets more interesting with every study that comes out. What if the most demonized compound of the 20th century turns out to be one of the best tools we have for keeping the aging brain alive? Pictured is the only easily available microdosing LSD product out there today. It comes from Golden Rule and ships to all 50 states. It's wild that this is now widely available.

@UltimaShadowX Joke or not, how would something like song of storms work with the game split like that? How short would Young Link's story be seeing as a good chunk of it is unavailable until be becomes adult? And how lifeless would Hyrule Field be now? Can't wait for the 'amazing' breaking.

The Gerudo in Ocarina of Time It's irrefutable that the Gerudo have come a long way since their debut in 1998, but the Gerudo in Ocarina of Time contribute to ideologies of colonialism through its settings and characters. The Hylians (European-inspired) are portrayed as the good people, while the Gerudo (Arabic/Islamic appropriated) are portrayed as the bad people, as thieves and pirates. The Gerudo originally used Islamic/Arabic iconography: its symbol was the traditional Islamic crescent moon and star, and the fire temple's soundtrack was of Arabic chanting. Sure, you might argue that "the Gerudo are a fictional race", but you cannot refute that they were heavily influenced by harmful stereotypes of Arabic culture. There is an actual character that flies over the desert on a magic carpet, come on.

@YannickBuccella @Whiplash437 Do you think it’s fair to say that it needs more research though? Providing an example where they failed to cure one type of advanced cancer doesn’t mean they don’t work at all. Seems to be a lot of exaggeration and “drunk on hubris” attitudes on both sides of this issue.
