BREAKING: Results from the fifth ballot of the Minnesota Republican Party's endorsement for U.S. Senate.
1. Adam Schwarze: 55% (1017 votes)
2. Michele Tafoya: 36.9% (683 votes)
3. No endorsement 7.7% (143 votes)
4. No preference: 5 votes
5. There were two write-in votes.
Convention rules state that a candidate needs 60% of the vote to win the endorsement. Both candidates will speak again before the sixth round.

Best campaign branding I've seen at the GOP convention so far goes to Lisa Demuth's hats and the bright red Mike Lindell shirts. Clear, eye catching, and instantly identifies supporters.
Honorary mention to Michele Tafoya's signs. As much as I dislike her as a candidate, the purple color was smart branding and it grabs attention.

Michele Tafoya's Letter to Trump: Please Don't Run Again 👀 I dug up a copy of her now-deleted letter because I've heard it talked about a lot but haven't seen it posted anywhere. Predictably, it's full of milquetoast fussing over "decency" and J6. Tafoya promoted this letter on X many times and then pulled it off her Substack when she launched her US Senate run. Why does this matter? Her campaign recently decided to attack other candidates with Facebook ads accusing them of being "anti-Trump." Meanwhile, Tafoya herself was far more publicly anti-Trump than anyone else in the Senate race. Minnesota bros, there's no fighter here. Just a flip flopper who won't stand by her past takes while cynically attacking others for being insufficiently MAGA.

Mike Lindell and Michele Tafoya both plan to ignore the GOP endorsements in Duluth and go to the August primary.
They believe factors like money, name ID, and an eleventh hour Trump endorsement that probably isn't coming will propel them over the finish line because they've failed to persuade the GOP base.
Lindell can't win moderates and reasonable conservatives in the GOP ranks. Tafoya can't win low propensity MAGA voters.
These are ego-centered campaigns that want to ignore decades of local political history for wishful thinking. One more glaring reason to reject hollowed out celebrity candidates without any substance.

To the hard working Minnesotans. I want all of us to have a state where we can live without crushing taxes. Safe schools that teach and not taint our Children. Decent wages and health care.
